Pearl Buck, an American female, once said "If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday ". Admittedly, history is a large mount of wealth inherited from our ancestors, studying history has value and sometimes even be desirable whether the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives or not.

Studying history can make our life meaningful and beneficial when the extent is relevant to our mundane living. One man has no sense of human being and social phenomenon when he is born. Form the history, we make clear that who we are and where we should pay attention to. In order to gain the ability of get along with his fellowmen and a common life, he must learn knowledge such as religion, education, vocation. And so forth. All of those are accumulated by our ancestors. Once we were satisfied with the basic survival and needs, we can get more through searching history. For example, we improve our health and increase our life by studying a macrobian village—a village in which most people have a higher life expectancy than that of the national average. We research the food and drink as well as the habits and ways of life about the villagers. It is perhaps that we can gain various significant figures and information about improving health and expectancy. So, it is necessary to think and quest the past before us.

We can get inspiration from history, human can undergo a steady and rapid progress. Convinced the necessity of social improvement and advance, we have know failures and successes of the past and reasons of the results; we ought to recognize what we have done and what we have neglect for limited resource; we must realize the difference between the past world and modern condition. Only by looking back to history can we get the clear answer. When we find the reasons of the failure, we can have a lesson from it. For example, Soviet government controlled the direction and the goals of its scientists’ research and distorted the outcome of that research. Not surprisingly, during this time period no significant scientific advances occurred under the undue management of politic. The Soviet lesson provides an important caveat to administrators of academics: extraordinary progress in academic requires an open mind to all sound ideas, theories and approaches. Additionally, certain persistent world problems require by studying history to solve it, such as Israeli-Palestinian conflict, if we want of settle this matter finally, surely we have to search the history for the different culture and religion between both.

At last, learning about great human achievements of the past provides spiritual support. In the modern world, the public can easily be cast about in the sea of society because they are surrounding by meeting of material and monetary temptation. As a result, this matter carry grave social consequence for citizenry without a direction of life and a dream for long term. The increase number of juvenile delinquency, commit sacrifice and psychology symptoms of depression taught us refer to the frontiersmen and mountain men and explorers, because it bespoke a dignity and self reliance. A student inspired by the courage and tenacity of past explorers might have motivation to face their own personal fears in life, and he can find hope and vision in disappear. In short, learning about grand achievement of the past can help us get through the everyday business of living by emboldening us and lifting our spirits.

To sum up, it is worthy to study the history for it is the wealth handed down in human procession. We should get from as much as from the history whether it is relevant of our life or not for the benefits of history is unlimited.
