Issue78    “Schools should be required to teach the essential interconnectedness of all human beings and thus help eliminate wars, cultural clashes, and other forms of conflict.

Word:757   Time: 3hours

教育、大众传媒、政治、经济组织等(而不仅仅是作为教育机构的学校)有责任通过致力于理解、尊重、沟通、互助等努力来减少(甚至消除)人类之间的冲突,而不能仅仅靠我们对本质相互联系性的共识。
1)   人类本质相互联系性的作用和局限。克服局限的办法。纵向历时性论述。
2)   教育减少人类冲突的作用和不足——赋予理解的能力
3)   大众传媒减少人类冲突的作用——了解、理解与尊重
4)   政治减少人类冲突的作用——沟通
5)   经济组织减少人类冲突的作用——互助
必须基于不同民族和文化之间的相互了解、理解、沟通和互助才能真正有效的减少乃至消除人类之间的冲突。

The speaker claims that essential interconnectedness of all human beings which should be taught in schools would help eliminate various forms of conflict. I strongly disagree with this. In fact, only when people make efforts to understand, respect, communicate, and aid with each other by the means of education, public media, political dialogue and economic organization, rather than to acquire the essential interconnectedness just by schooling, the various forms of conflict such as wars, cultural clashes would be decreased, even eliminated.

Admittedly, essential interconnectedness of all human beings is the foundation of existence and communication for ours. What distinguish human from animals is just the essential interconnectedness among individuals, which makes individual realize that human could exist only when then live as a community where one lives upon others. For that, the ancient tribe of human gradually transited to now society. However, the consent of that essential interconnectedness provide the foundation for human development cannot eliminate the conflict, and actually countless wars, slaughters, and cultural clashes happened accompany with our evolution of society. So, after a series of historical tragedies – such as World War I and World War II, people more and more try to utilize the civil forms of education, culture, politics, and economy to decrease the conflict.

As the speaker’s claim, schools as the chief form of education are really helpful to address the conflict because they could enrich their students the abilities of learning, understanding and communication which are the base for addressing conflict. Though schools don’t provide the direct methods to decrease the human conflict, they build the base for students to know, to think, to do, and to reflect. Undoubtedly, those abilities are very important by which people will deal with problem, even not say the conflict. But, if schools only are required to teach the essential interconnectedness, the function of eliminating conflict is too limited to know how to solve a problem by a concrete means.

For that help from education, people can understand, respect, communicate and aid with each other through public media, politics and economic organizations. Firstly, public media – which I chiefly mean television, radio, internet and newspaper- can make us know the diversified cultures of the known world, and through the interpretation to those cultures people can understand and respect others values, beliefs and behaviors. For example, Islam as a religion forbids talking about swine and eating pork, which we might know when the TV broadcast a program about religion. Hence we could avoid the conflict which might be burned for vocabulary about swine or food included pork when you face the Islamists, and at the same time that is also show your respect to others. Okay, harmony will serve as substitute for conflict. In short, I think public media have the responsibility to transmit values, cultures, lives styles in different nations and regions which let people understand and respect others, and thus help decrease conflict.

Secondly, political dialogue as a formal institution which requires each party adopts the peaceful form instead of violence to solve the contradiction among them by communication - talking and proposal - is effective when possible sweeping clashes come. For insistence, the nuclear crisis of North Korea for which international society might punish the country by economic sanctions and thus harm the people’s lives was addressed by Six-Party Talk, which eliminated the conflict –especially martial conflict. Therefore politics as a field for discussion could make great contribution to decrease the sweeping conflict which might bring the disaster to people.

Thirdly, economic organizations such as enterprises, World Bank and World Trade Organization and so on should also have responsibilities to prompt international economic cooperation and aid. Many conflicts result from the economic competition to acquire recourses – for example food, water, mine – for living and development. For that, international economic organization could develop some suitable institutions which assure that economic cooperation and aid would pervade most areas in the world, and people could be distributed adequate recourses for living and development.If so, many conflicts – like anti-globalization movement in The South – will be decreased or eliminated.

In final analysis, it is a difficult task to eliminate the various forms of conflict in human society, and only realization of interconnectedness of human beings which is advised to be taught in schools by the speaker is far from enough, so what we can do is try our best to utilize the diversified social forces – education, public media, politics and economic organization - to build some reasonable institutions which would decrease (even eliminate) conflicts as many as possible.

总体来说,除了第一段的论证,下面的几段都写的很好。用词很广泛,但对准确性有点怀疑。还有一点疑问是,原题中是说教育应当有这个责任,并没有说其他的社会机构没有,你的论证批驳的是只有教育有这个责任,有点不当。
若有拍错的地方还望指出。

一般来说是一种正反的观点,你的观点是完全否定无可厚非,但是你的第一段好像是有同意作者的观成分的,另外第一个词是admittedly本身就是让步了

感觉总体上有些偏差,你的第一段那个词strongly很鲜明的确明了立场,但是后面以及最后的总结上你却认为学校的教育不够,应该是一种补充的说明的立场,而且第二段对全文的支持不强,后面的几段可以合成一段吧,感觉第二段先让步,不说人类的共处的必要性,而是谈学校教育对他的贡献,后面的可以合成,然后再扯些其他的
