例如:
I型糖尿病----是自身免疫疾病
病人的免疫系统会攻击胰腺中制造胰岛素的β细胞导致胰岛素缺乏
当病人进行较高热量的饮食时,血糖浓度急剧上升可能会导致失明,肾功能衰竭等一系列并发症

而将血液中的糖转化为糖原很重要的一部分是在肝脏内进行的
肝脏没有了糖显然很多工作不能进行了.........

而大多数药物治疗需要在肝脏功能完全正常的条件下进行
因为肝脏是最重要的解毒器官之一

is this pharmacology course, or pathology course?

if pharmacology, talk about sth about drug metabolism in liver after absorbed, think about drug effect on pancrease and thylamus (if possible)
if pathology course, focus more on the mechanism of disease itself and the abnormal conc. of hormone on liver or sth...

that's pretty interesint and hard.

as far as i know, toxicology usu. comes out with pharmacology. it's usu. sth related to drug.
i dont know what "organ systems toxicology" exactly means here. is it a combination of drug toxicology and pathophysiology about some related disease?
or is it the possible toxicity cause by someorgan abnormally functioning?

well based on my understanding of this question, the professor probably wants u to write sth about the current therapies on DB and  say the limitation of those drugs. for example, T2D, when insulin is used, what might happen to liver or sth? insulin is not that bad coz it's through IV. I guess u have to focus more on those oral-availabe drugs coz those go to the liver and cause the major damage of the liver.

Sorry i can't offer more coz i've never learned toxicology before, i just learned some pharmacology. i read sth about pathology but not that much. So i usu. put more emphasis on pharmacology part.
