In this argument, the arguer comes to the conclusion that the best way to improve profits in all of the stores is to discontinue stocking many of varieties of imported cheese and concentrated primarily on the domestic cheese. And to support this point, the president takes the best-selling cheese at the newest store and a survey from a magazine as the evidence. However, a couple of obvious fallacy and obscure factor, which may lead to a premature notion, has been not suppose to be overlooked before that.
First and foremost, the president hastily gains to the point that the chain of cheese stores should take the same action with the consideration of the best-selling domestic cheese in one states-Wisconsin. Obviously, the phenomenon merely manifest itself in the limited area, whose residence prefer the domestic food because of the habit , the low incoming, even the willing of protection for the local product. For instance, in my observation, the price of the imported cheese is much higher than the counterpart made oversea. If the average of incoming is low, most residence of course would like the former, depending on the lower price. In short, the unnecessary reduce in the other area may carry the lack of the products, result of which goes against the development and increasing profit.
Secondly, the survey fails to convince me the reality of the result. The subscribers present their own thoughts, but the rest ones, who have not answered the survey yet, may not make the same choice .If the number of latter is much more than of respondents, it is probability that the need of the domestic cheese is the same as much as before. In addition, the survey is unable to account for the component of the respondents. Under the circumstance, I hardly see their custom, their age, even their gender. In one word, data, as the elements, is comprehensive or not determines the correction of the conclusion.
Finally, the arguer unfairly comes to the assumption that the best way to improve profit is to discontinue stocking the imported cheese and concentrate on the domestic ones. However, in business, the decline in the number of stock does not necessarily indicate the increase in the profit, which is determined by the interplay of many factors. In fact, after adjustment for inflation, the demands and supply or the cost, a simple origin may carry good profit. For supporting example, as long as the cost goes up, the store must lose more desirable profit than before.
In the conclusion, the argument fails to convince me that all the market should reduce the relative product on time according to the report. Without considering the fallacy in the survey, we may be cheated by the superficial conduct. After all, a great deal of complicated factor lead to a simple .If we are masked by the superficiality, we will fall in the pitfall unconsciously.
