Which should be of more importance in the impetus for innovation, the individual or the team? The author believes that the enterprise and unique perception of an individual outweigh the work of a team. To a large extent, I agree with the opinion.

On the one hand, it is always a unique perception of an individual that results in an innovation, which is especially obvious in the field of science. When most people are concentrate their energy in the existing structure of technology, the outstanding individual is considering new ideas which has never be entered before. If examples are asked to be present, then the well-known ones such as Newton and Einstein come into face at once. It was their unique conception that led the whole science to a completely new stage. However, such geniuses are so rare that it is hardly possible that two happen to meet at the same period in the history. As a result, the separate individual takes the response of opening a new sight for the world.

On the other hand, the enterprise of the individual plays an important role in the innovations, which can be well elaborated when it comes to revolution. Should Gandhi lack the enterprise for independence, the India might still be a colony. And the racial discrimination would never be changed if there were not the struggle of Martin Luther King. There are many aware of the problem, however, they need a leader who can turn the discontentment of the mass to a storm. It is just the enterprise of the outstanding individuals that calls the general together. Without their endeavor, the innovation just lacks the driving force.

It is true that the individual plays an important part which can not be neglected, however, the effect the work of a team has on the innovation cannot be ignored, either. The world is inflating of all kinds of information that there is no possibility that one individual can learn all about any single field, which calls on the need of cooperation. And persons major in different areas can make up for each other and new ideas can always be achieved when different courses cross. At the same time, the research nowadays is of such huge scale that only by cooperating we can complete it.

Without the enterprise and unique perception of the individual, the innovation simply lacks the source. Without the cooperation of a team, the innovation can not progress much. Only by good connection of the two can we achieve innovations more effectively and efficiently.
