1.现代社会的变化日新月异,产生了许多新东西,筑建了许多新情况,有人就说了,历史已经不能给新时期的社会提供指导了,在我看来,面对一些
新情况,压根就没有历史,自然谈不上帮助,但是人类社会无论怎样发展,有些本质固在的东西是不会改变的,这时候,历史对于问题的解决发挥了
无可替代的指导作用.

2.历史上不存在的新新事物所产的问题,使我们无法借助历史的力量.随着电脑网络的普及,出现了新型的财产关系,比如对人们基于互联网上的
活动产生的虚拟财产法律关系,它没有实体化的体现,不流通等等特点,这和现实中普通的财产关系是不一样的,并且更为复杂,处理这个问题,历
史确实是帮不了忙的,因为历史上就从来没有过电脑网络这类事物,此外的同性恋问题,历史上大多数国家,尤其是中国是不承认同性婚姻的合法
化的,然而随着时代的进步和发展,人们逐渐变得开明,宽容,接纳不同的人群及其生活方式,就像持开放的姿态接纳西方的经济体制和思维一样,
由此产生的同性家庭组合及其子女的领养,人工受精,受孕等一系列难以解决的问题也是我们的时代所独有的,而与此同时,我们无法借助历史的
力量.

3.另一方面，历史为人类提供做事情的参考,告诉人们有些事情可以做,
二战后,印度作为殖民地国家人民为争取独立而取得的解放战争的胜利为其它殖民地国家提供了经验,也为水深火热的人民提供了希望,使被压迫
的人们知道反侵略战争胜利的可能性,知道幸福的可能性,从而努力抗争,争取属于他们自己的幸福.

4.此外, 历史以曾经发生过的事例告诉人们有些事情做了可能失败,警示人们,让人们诉诸它法,从侧面为人们的成功提供经验.历史上太多的例
子说明当生产关系阻碍生产力发展的时候,必然会导致社会退步,需要变革生产关系以适应生产力的发展,比如新中国走全面计划经济路线适应不
了国情,严重限制了生产力的发展,从而在78年,改革开放,加入市场经济鲜活的元素,这种新型生产关系使得中国生产力有了大幅的发展,最终导
致了近年来中国连续好几年的GDP10%以上的增速.这是历史在教育我们适用不适当的经济政策产生不适当的生产关系,可能会导致经济不景气,要适时调整以适应社会,国家发展的情况. 另一个更极端的例子,二战不仅不能实现争霸世界的梦想,反而使矛盾更加激化,引起世界混乱,人民苦难,经济衰退,进步停滞,人们从而知道了和平的可贵.

As the modern society moving forward swiftly and violently, a great change has taken place in today’s world. With the arrival of new adventures, people have to face a great deal of complex circumstances. In this respect, some people hold the belief that history offers little guidance for our living in the present. As far as I am concerned, there are not even any histories which are related to the present circumstance, let alone that histories can serve the function of guidance. However, in the long river of history, no matter how the human society develops, there remain some essential elements which will never change but exist in other forms or at other stages in its long run. Under this condition, undoubtedly, history plays a significant role in addressing social problem and guiding our present life.

To begin with, the problem generated from brand new things which do not exist in the history can not be solved with the strength of history. Along with the widespread of computer and internet, there exists new type of property relationships, For instance, the intangible property relationship based on the activity on internet. It dose not appears in tangible form, is not circulating and different from normal property relationships, even more complex. Dealing with this problem, people can found nothing helpful in a book of history, for there is not a single computer or internet in past. Take homoerotism for another example, most of the country dose not uphold homoerotism, especially china, which strongly oppose the legislation of homoerotic marriage. Nevertheless, time goes by, people became more and more enlightened, tolerant, and began to accept different people and diversity lifestyle with arms wide open, just like the acceptance of the western ideas and economic system. The homoerotism and issues like the establishment of homoerotic family, the children adoption in this family, artificial fertilization, artificial insemination which are the problems so unique and complex to solve. The factors above demonstrate the futility of history comprehensibly.

On the other hand, learning history is of huge value, for it can provide information and experiences which are helpful for the decision making in the present. It tells people that things could happen, impossible is nothing. Since the end of World War II, India as the colonial country first won the libration in the name of fighting for independence. The success of India offered endless hope for other colonial country in Asia and Africa. People who were oppressed and in the misery began to realize that they can be independent and achieve the success of liberation too, just like India. They were so keen for the happiness that they started to strive for it, with the experience learned from India and history.   


Furthermore, history illuminates that people will fail after they done certain things or made some decision with the real facts which has ever happened. The failer warns people to find other measures to solve the problem or to achieve the success. There are countless number of examples which indicate that the degeneration of the entire society is due to the development of the productivity has been counteracted by the product relationship. If people want to prosper the economy, they need to reform the product relationship to meet the demand of the productivity. For instance, in the period of the foundation of PRC, the government implements the policy of planned economy which is not suitable for china’s current situation and severely blocks the advancement of productivity. Since the reformation of 1978, market economy was brought to china as a fresh stimulus for the first time, which promote china's productivity to a huge extent, accordingly result in china's above 10% continuous increment rate of GDP every year in recent years. In this sense, history indirectly offers the experience of success. It teaches us a lesson that we should apply the appropriate economic policies which generate the healthy product relationships catering to the productivity and the society. Another extreme example is that World war II have not actualized Nazi’s dream of dominating the world but sharpen the conflict of many territory, aroused the world wide confusion, misery to public, depression to the economy and the cease of the development. From then on, peace was thought to be the treasure that people are cherishing forever.

To sum up, history can not provide foolproof panaceas for living in the present. Nonetheless, today's world is not so unique that the past is irrelevant. Conversely, it helps people out in almost every aspect. We should take full advantage of its merits at all time when we are in need.
