The speaker’s assertion that it is the artist, not the critic, who gives society something of lasting value is on the correct philosophicalside of this issue. After all, only artists are true catalysts of artisticprogress in terms of their masterpieces on painting, immortal epics andinfluential movies while critic’s subordinate role can only serve to be thefootnote of art-history textbooks.
Admittedly, criticism is science—a branch of knowledge that uses specific methods and toolsto compare, evaluate, and recommend something to pubic.Consideringthe complexity of art and public’s lack of necessary knowledge, the function ofcritics which can be described as both a guider and a filter, is becomingincreasingly important. On one hand, they help us understand and interpret art,(少了一个连词) a critic who is familiar with a particular form of art mighthave certain sight of those works that the layperson would not .On the otherhand, their (know-how???) can distinguish excellent ones from a vast see of (mediocre对应前面的excellent)works, which can greatly reduce our time in seeking ofworthwhile works.
However, reflecting on the two main roles critic plays in spreading(感觉spreading不能很好的概括上一段论述的批评家的作用) arts makesclear that the art critic actually offers very litter to society. Their labelsas guiders rightly reflect some deficiencies in our education which places toomuch emphasis on practicality while ignoring exploring students’ aestheticsense. For that case, a qualified teacher or a meaningful class on art will bemore sound and effective than such critics without systematic plans onteaching.(很有想法的论点)Furthermore, appreciating an art work is a communication to ainformed man who can shows you the inherent nature of art, a journey throughwhich you gain a sense of satisfaction ,and also a weekend prey which can arisethe deepest feelings in the bottom of your heart. These shocks on art vary fromone person to another according their different experiences and emotions. Forthat matter, an obscure advice from critic ,who mainly focuses on the feelingof the public not that of an individual, would be helpless, even of no valuenow matter how vividly and completely they portrays(既然描绘地vividly且completely,建议怎么会obscure呢?).
Anotherfunction of critic as a filter is also troubling when it comes to the ultimategoal of arts. After all, art is a form through which artists use theircognitive abilities to express their feelings and emotions to cause public’sresonance. Now that every person has his own joys and sorrows, hopes anddisappointments, everyone is willing to find an access to share his concernsfor society, desires for beauty, and arts actually provide us—every socialbeing a chance to do so. Yet, critic’s focuses are only limited in narrowfields with according to their eternal regulations and criterions on evaluatingregardless of one external principle on arts---the principle calls artist paymore attention to viewer’s inner feelings with any forms of artistic care andaesthetic consideration. Take a look at some great works in different artfields: when we indulging the secret smile from Mona Lisa, is there not aglorious beauty that shining from another world; when we listening to thelecture from Martin Luther king, is there not a strong desire to fight for ascene of talking brotherhood at table; when we moved by the heroic activity ofScbindler under the control of Nazi, is there not a empathy to the crude war?All three works are different in both form of art and expressing method bytheir producers. Such difference may cause controversial arguments amongcritics, just as Voltaire’s rejection of Shakespeare as barbaric and thedismissal of Beethoven’s music at his times. Yet, such rejections can’t preventthe popularity of Shakespeare’s dramas and Beethoven’s music which are allresonate the overwhelming majority of public.(又是一个好论点)
Insum, the speaker’s assertion is sound considering the subordinate role ofcritic in art creation. What’s more, artists should observe the society fromtheir own eyes and cling to(adhere to???) the principle they set for their own, only in this way, art canbe called real art. As to critics, their function is right in some particularaspects of art, however at a more wider level, their function is quite limited, let alone of lasting values.
总得来说,有范文的的感觉,论点有见解,分析全面,深入,例子适当丰富。一些拼写错误也不会影响文章取得高分。:)
