Based on your excellent academic record and the overlap of your research
interest with that of the Department of Physics at the University of New
Hampshire (UNH), we are very pleased to offer you four years of support to
attend the Ph.D. program in Physics at UNH. This and any further support is
contingent on satisfactory progress in coursework and research.


The support while attending UNH will consist of a combination of
graduate teaching and research assistantships. The teaching  
assistantship stipend this year (2007-8) is $13,500 for the academic year.
In addition, health insurance is covered and the tuition is fully waived.
This offer includes support starting your first summer (2009).  The
additional pay for work as a summer research assistant is usually 4/9 of
the academic year stipend, bringing the total pay for a full calendar year
to approximately $20,000. The research assistantship salary is dependent on
experience, starting at about $20,000 for a full year.


We encourage you to explore the various research
opportunities available at the Department of Physics during your first year
at UNH.  Based on your promising academic career up to this point, it is
expected that you will excel in one of the many areas of research where
support is available.


Please indicate by April 15 whether you accept or decline this offer.
If you choose to decline our offer, we would appreciate if
you could let us know as soon as possible. This will allow us
to offer admissions to students on the wait-list.

I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted by the Physics Department, Auburn University as a graduate student and teaching assistant (TA) starting Fall Semester, 2008. The stipend for the Teaching Assistantship is $19,500 for 12 months plus tuition waiver. Please note that we do offer tuition waiver to you.
