题目：ISSUE48 - "The study of history places too much emphasis on individuals. The most significant events and trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten."

According to this statement, the speaker claims that the most important events and trends are made by crowds of people instead of the famous individuals. The study of history should remember an increasing number of people who might be lost memory and in fact there are groups of people who made some great devotions to the history or the society. For my part, I tend to disagree with the author that although groups of people have played extreme significant roles in the development's process of the history and society, the individuals acted the  crucial key function to the revolution of the society and advancement of history.

Admittedly, the normal crowd does have a greatly significant function which can not be overlooked during the process of history. The people are the basic units in any society. First, for example, there are many historical heritage conserved till today such as the Great Wall in China which was designed and constructed by the many ancient people. In order to accomplish this construction, many people had to work hard day by day even lost their lives. So the Great Wall shows the values of a particular period of China. And at the same time the intelligence and creative ability of people are shown. Second, when it comes to the revolution, the revolution must not be successful only depends on the famous few. They should associate with all the powers of people in the society, thus the future of revolution will be bright. For instance, Chair Mao who is the bellwether of China took the advantage of the power of people to achieve the revolution successfully. A language can be a pearl on the beautiful necklace that it is necessary to trust the people and rely on them.

In my opinion, however, the elites play the most crucial roles in aspects of development of history, society and revolution. Return to the example the Great Wall mentioned above, it could be constructed link to the monarch's order tightly at that time. If there were not the governors to force people having such work, the heritage of history will not be shown on the front of our eyes nowadays.  For another example, if there were the New deal of Roosevelt, the economy of America could not be rapidly recovery from Depression and World War II. Therefore, the significant events and trends cannot separate with keyman.

Moreover, the keyman also play a important role in the area of technology and science. For instance, the Newton discovers the three laws of physics, there is still profound effect to the society today. Or Einstein established the theory of relativity, it make us better to know the nature of space and time. Thus, many great achievements of science are provided by only some elites, especially in the early period of science development.

In sum, the study of history is still focus on the famous individuals rather than the groups of people. And the elites take more significant positions in development of the history and revolution than the normal people.
