What is the definition of "socialize" ?In my opinion,it means " to fit or train for a social environment,or to convert or adapt to the the need of society".According to this definition,I agree with the author's view partially.
How children are socialized can determines the destiny of society,because the future belongs to them.We are all have our childhood,a good time will never come back again.As we are in society ,no one can avoid being socialized,which seems to be dispensible to our lives.For instance,bushido,which means a feudal-military japanese code of behavior valuing honor above life, is one of the most significant flag in Japan' culturn. Children in japan who are being educated in this traditional way will have a lot of stress in their mind and appear to be agressive,or may even tend to kill themselves .And this is a serious problem existed in japan.However,this special culture makes children in Japan prefer cooperation,and they can suffer more agony in their lives.Now just take a look at the society in Japan,we will find that this phenomenon not only exists in children,but also the whole society.
Do we have yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society? My answer is "yes".What is the definition of a better society?Highly-developed technology?A no-war world?The friendship among people?If we fail to raise them,our society are likely to go to the groomy hell.But,our society is moving forward: the highly developed technology makes every body'life more convenient;the cruil war in the world is less ;the connection between people -even in different countries that is far away-is increasingly close.Children get well-educated,and they are likely to bring about a better society
Although children are socialized can determines the destiny of society,some other factors may contributed to the destiny ,too.Such factors can be whether the society has a good leader,or how many are the celebrates.Sometimes we do not raise children in a proper way, which unfortunately may lead to the crimes.
To sum up, raising children who can help bring a better society is our responsibility, and how they are socialized today determines the destiny of society.Admittedly,some other factors may also influence the destiny of society,and some children are not well raised.However,I strongly believe that we will overcome these difficulties,and have a flurishing future.
