Since the Industry Revolution, technologies have played more and more important role in daily life and influence social
customs and ethics. However, technologies would never have a chance to determine a society's customs or ethics.

First of all, technologies have effects social customs in all aspects. With high-tech, people began to try new things and chance their old habits in daily life. People in America went shopping in supermarkets every weekend not long ago, but in recent 20
years, an increasing number of American people have been shopping on line instead of going to real markets because of the
appearance of internet and electronic banks. This is only an aspect of social customs' changes. In other aspects, people also
changes very much, such as that young people began to get married in travel rather in church due to the fast development of
cars, flights and trains. Therefore, technologies become part of our lives and influence our customs.

Secondly, technologies influence social ethics, especially enlightened society. Technologies not only give an easier life to
people but also lead people to contemplate more about their values and about social problems. One of the most essential
side influenced by technologies is about life. With the help of high tech such as DNA analysis, police could catch crimes more quickly and precise than before and many cases that were not correctly judged could be re-examined and get a fair judgment. The former change is a good news, but the later change is not so good news as the former one that people would began to
think whether they had sentence someone death incorrectly. In this consequence, very state had arguments on whether they
have right to sentence people death and whether they could insure the judgment would not wrong. As the result, most states
of America abolished death penalty. Although technologies only inspire people to think about some social ethics in one side,
hey definitely take part into changes of social ethics.

Finally, technologies would never determine social customs and ethics, though they make social customs and ethics change.
Social customs and ethics had been determined as soon as human appeared, though at the beginning, human did not have so
high standard of moral and ethics as we do now. For supporting example, technologies in medicine and biology enables
people to live more longer and even could clone human in foreseeable future, but however development of technologies are,
technologies would not determine social ethics, which means cloning human would be unacceptable forever, since this kind of cloning contravenes basic human customs and ethics established long ago. Besides, all development of technologies is limited
to the scale of social customs and ethics and if it is beyond the limits, it will be prohibited by law. Therefore, technologies
could not determine social customs and ethics, though they could influence these customs and ethics largely.

To sum up, there is not doubt to say that technologies influence social customs and ethics, however, social customs and ethics could not be determined by technologies, but in the contrast, technologies are determined by social customs and ethics.
