Should all nations help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems? I hold that the answer is yes, although they do not have the responsibility of doing that.

Firstly, there are always serious problems all over the world, such as racial problems or conflicts between countries, and people want to solve it by communication. I know lots of students from India and Pakistan, as well as those form Israel and Palestine, who work together in a team smoothly and even make friends with each other very well, nevertheless their own countries always have conflicts. They told me that the racial problems or other conflicts between their races or countries, which are taken as a responsibility to be solved by them, were caused by their ancestors rather than themselves, the solvers. Similar situations happen at lots of places all over the world. People who love peace need no fewer than one platform to communicate with each other, to stop conflicts between countries and unnecessary damages. At the same time, the scholars and students also want to solve and study other important problems than conflicts. The resource of energy and other essential issues such as the lack of oil and drinking water are still a puzzle for all human beings, and every country want to study other countries' technologies for its own benefits. In this case, why not support a university to let the elites all over the world to study together?

Secondly, the only way to solve social problems completely is through communication and study rather than other improper ways. As far as the most serious problems are concerned, such as racial problems or country conflicts, only through communications can we solve them, instead of beating each other to deaths. Countries admiring wars may seize their desires by ruling out each other from the earth, but they have to sacrifice lots of wealth and human lives to get it. However, by proper communications, every country can offer some of its non-fatal compromises to one another who needs it very much. Then lots of wars and damages can be stopped, in this peaceful way. As far as less serious but important problems are concerned, such a university could also offer a good platform for the most brilliant scholars from all over the world to solve them. For example, the pollution is some significant problem that needs the efforts of all human beings, which can be solved much more quickly if all countries can share the most advanced technologies in the world. This university will do a very good job of being that platform.

In all, the university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problem should be supported by all nations, because it is desired by the people all over the world and necessary for those desires of peace and development.
