50. "In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach."

Admittedly, to learn from application in society and factory proves to be an effective method to improve the professional expertise and teaching approaches of the university and college level. However, with the various differences and special needs, there may be not a good way to require all the faculty to work outside the academic world in professions. Spending time working outside is not suitable for all the faculty.

Practice of the instructors in social markets could help them certain their direction of research and improve their teaching qualities. As to the instructors of the applied majors, such as the engineering, language translation, medicine research, the very important problem is to search for the needs of the society or the current market. Choosing a valuable problem not only relates to the proof of the application of the financial supports from the government or the private assistances, but also decides whether the students involving such professors in this university could be fulfilled with more opportunities of the employment after graduate. Moreover, researching in lab is the different experience from working in the professions, where they always meet the problems more of the implication, such as massive production, the convenience of products, the costs compared with profits, so forth. In the lab, obviously, the researchers only need to consider about the technological difficulties and the major problems, that is far beyond the need of been applied in reality.

While for some faculty working outside is unrealistic, so it is impossible to improve the college's instructive qualities. There are many faculties which are unsuitable for the instructors to find the favorable position in the society to improve their professional skill or major knowledge. For example, the artist professor of photograph maybe could get a work in one photo shop. But there the research of an elite of the arts turn into the job to take the photos for the people' passport or the wedding part. And the working condition of the shop truly cannot meet the needs of the research the artists. Meanwhile, some professors' research can hardly be used for finding a job. One could not expect the  of professor of microbiology evolution to hunt a job in a zoo, and their research only in the lab with special equipment and apparatus could be commit.

The last but not least, sending all faculty of the working time outside the academic world unavoidably leads to some problems for the usual teaching and research programs of the university. Too many instructor absentees in the official schedule of the university would bring the difficult of the completion of the students studying programs, as well as the necessary research requirements. As the common sense, the school cannot afford too many instructors to practice or study outside. The cost outweighs the financial limitation of the university, many of which are supported by the public and government usually with limited budgets

In sum, I do not disagree with that working outside in the professions relevant to the course the instructors teach is an efficient measure to improve the quality of the university teaching level. Just this method could not suit all the faculty with various majors. And the university certainly cannot afford the whole instructors to leave school for the working. The best way is to advocate the proper number of instructors whose majors are suitable for the social employment.
