I've give up hope for OSU, I even don't want to call them to face the direct rejection.  Someone in the Economics Dept tell me the professor who in change of the admission is a  tough Japanise guy, he only received students from very few schools of China, PKU, Tinghua U, Nankai U, Fudan U.
Now I feel really sorry for my $ 40 application fee :(

CMU is so funny, if you apply on line you can take a $10 off discount from the $40 application fee.  It is one of the reasons I applied for CMU, haha ~~

对，cmu一样，4月15号之前两天才发通知offer的e-mail, 上次我说三月份是记错了，三月份收到的是另一个学校。CMU也是这么慢的，很令人ft!

是啊,记性不好,刚才把好久以前和OSU经济系学生联系的信找出来了,摘一小段

"for econ dept in osu, there were over 500 chinese applicants each year. and generally 9 for 2000, 11 for 2001, 5 for 2002 got admission and financial aid. So the competition is pretty severe. Frankly speaking, there are no students coming from Beijing Normal Univ. in my dept (as far as I know), the DGS (director of graduate studies who in charge of recruiting new students) usually will choose econ students graduating from Peking univ. Renmin Univ. Fudan Univ. Nankai Univ and Wuhan univ.. I don't mean that your Univ is not good enough ( actually it is very good, right?), our DGS may know little about your univ., thus it is a weak point for applying osu econ. "

econ真的很难申请:)不过好像cmu还没有决定，因为没有看到别人说谁拿到cmu的offer。

To tell the truth,你申的这几个都是econ小牛校啊。排名50之内的。
