Is it more important for a teacher to help students gain self-confidence than to teach specific knowledge? 2007.3.10教育类

又超时了，好像精力很难集中的样子~~~

Currently, when competition becomes more furious, students are confronting the historical pressure in how to learn the deep understanding knowledge and how to surge into the crucial society. Teacher, as the gardener of growing springwood, represents an important role like the guider on student’s studying way. In my point of view, it is more important for teacher to help students gain self-confidence than to teach specific knowledge.

Admittedly, teaching specific knowledge is very important because the final grade is determined by the quantity and quality of knowledge student has grasped. Moreover, specific knowledge will play an essential role in the future work which reflects students’ basic background toward skill. However, in the process of learning, self-confidence gained from teacher could be considered as a pill of catalyze which is beneficial for knowledge learning.

To begin with, self-confidence enables students to surpass themselves. Because the first trouble every student confronts before learning is whether he have the ability to handle it.  If a teacher intends to describe an unfamiliar formulas or equation of the subject, he/she has to tell the students that this theory is acceptable---not that difficult to realize and analyze. Therefore, under the encouragement from the teacher, no matter what knowledge easy or hard seems to wave its hand toward students to approach. Actually, the first step of success is fighting against oneself.   

Additionally, self-confidence could help improve one’s ability and even the whole group either. The responsibility of a teacher is not only teaching one student well but all the class as well. If every student is confident to conquer various questions in specific knowledge, it can undoubtedly promote the capability and deepness of knowledge. In this case, if each element in the collectivity becomes more competitive, as a member of the team, individuals would properly pay more effort to keep studying in order to avoid being fallen behind. Then the whole class will consequently climb up as the top of the entire school. As a psychology scientist investigated, people always run faster when they see others are running beside them. Furthermore, the early cultivation of self-confidence will simultaneously be beneficial after students’ graduation. As an initiatory guider, the position of teacher is great because the behavior or word of a teacher will influence students in both the school time and the work period.

我是第一次改别人作文， 我的水平也不高，所以我指出的东西 楼主要自己再想想或核实一下
