Do you agree or disagree: It is important to know events happening around the world, though sometimes they are unlikely to affect your daily life. (2007.4.29,生活与个人成功类)
  
In modern society,it is rise a debate that the imprortance of knowing world events.Balancing the positive and negative aspects, I strongly agree the statement that people should pay attention to events happening around the world, no matter they affect our daily life or not. With respect to my preference hereupon come the reasons.


The pinnacle importance for my response focuses on the expand our horzion. Since the society has stepped into an information-exploding ages, many events what seems have no connection with us always could enlight people's wisdom. To be frank, the more knowledge people knows, the more things he/she could do, and thus the greater success will be achieved. My advisor is a good example in case. He got inspiration from hawks when he was watching television programs. Refer to the machanism of hawk's flight, he designed a more effective spacecraft which got the first-rank Prize of National  Science and Technology. In one word, the events happening around us will benefit us dramatically as long as we observe careufully.


Secondly, knowing events in some realms will promote our confidence significantly. Although the individual's talent has been proved first and foremost to our work, however, a high morale will make people working or studying more efficiently and effectively. A very representative example comes from the 29nd Olympic Games just ended one month ago. According to some professional investigation ,the working efficiency of corporation and government in China have increaseing nearly 20 percents after the Olympic Games. The people surveyed generally expressed that they were working with a happier mood than everbefore because of the successful operation of the Games.This is another part we feel the power of the events and news.

In addition, the process we pay attention to the world events could also provide an opportunity to relax. In my family, my parents and I often watch International News after dinner. We talk about the events happened in the last days.This provide more time and chances to communicate with my family members. If fill my life only with boring textbooks, I'm sure I will lose interest in study. However, by knowing all kinds of events related to the general subjects, I can chat with my friends with a variety of topics. Likely,I can get further information from my friends concerning many subjects, such as geography, literature, and music.

From the above, world events do have their good reasons. Therefore, I have full confidence to reach this conclusion that all people should spent some time knowing some affairs and making our lives more wonderful.
