Following the custom of the new country you are in, or keeping your own customs?

With the rapidly development of the technology, economy and the transportation especially, the world we live in is now becoming smaller than any other time before. Thus, traveling or settling in another country is increasing annually. Some of the settlers hold the opinion that they should follow the customs of the new country for the reasons that it's not only give them an better understanding of the new culture, but also is a opportunity to get more local friends. At the same time, another group of people claim that keeping their own customs has various advantages. When this question comes to me, I think both of them have suitable reasons.

To begin with, accepting some new custom will help you to have better understanding of the new country, thus letting you adjust to the new society more comfortably. Let's take the example of writing a letter to one's boss to show some opinions. In American custom, it's better to hang out your opinion at the beginning of the article, then following some reasons. In some country, such as in China, however, the opinion will more persuasible if one give some reasons first, to which support the main idea, before drawing it down. Thus, grasping theses methods in a new country would help you do something more efficiently. Secondly, one could make more local friends more easily following the new custom. For instance, you can have many chances to get new friends if you participate in some parties hold on the Christmas Even, or the H....Day.

However, someone believe that keeping the own custom also have some advantages. For example, majority of Chinese who move to western countries may still keep the traditional custom, drinking tea every day, to keep more healthy and raise the work efficiency. This custom has had a great influence on their daily lives. Besides, keeping the old custom, in some degree, is a desire for mental spirit. For that moving to a new country often means that someone has to leave his/her families or relatives. They may feel lonely when everything around has changed and seems strange. In this case, doing some traditional things may reduce or eliminate the feeling of loneliness, such as making dumplings, for some oversea Chinese, on the Spring Festival Night with some new friends there.

As for me, assimilating to the new culture while retain key elements of one's own custom would be a good choice. New custom can be seen as a favorable method to adapt to the new country as soon as possible whereas the old custom can be viewed as the good chances to remember one's own country, which one loves all his/her life. When one takes on some of the new culture while keeping some of his/her own, one gets the excitement and opportunities of the new culture, and at the same time keeping the familiarity and ease of his/her own culture.

你给的题目明显不完整,所以无法判断题目对论证的具体要求是什么,所以只帮你改语法..

With the rapidly development of the technology, economy and the especially transportation especially, the world we live in is now becoming smaller than any other time before. Thus, traveling to or settling in another country is increasing annually (Where do you get this 'annually' from? Do you have actual annual data on this? It'll be better if you just leave it at 'increasing'.). Some of the settlers hold the opinion that they should follow the customs of the new country for the reasons that it's not only giving them an better understanding of the new culture, but also is an opportunity to get more local friends. At the same time, another group of people claim that keeping their own customs has various advantages. When this question comes to me, I think both of them have suitable reasons.

To begin with, accepting some new customs will help you to have better understanding of the new country, thus letting you adjust to the new society more comfortably. Let's take the example of writing a letter to one's boss to show express some opinions. In American customs, it's better to hang voice out ('hang out' is an expression quite unrelated to the idea you're trying to express) your opinion at the beginning of the article letter, then following with some reasons. However, In some other countries, such as in China, however, the opinion will more persuasive (技术上来说意见persuasive与否和你写文的顺序不应该有关系。如果不同的写作顺序会影响persuasiveness,那是因为老板会喜欢看他看惯了的顺序,而他的态度和心情多半会影响决定,表现出来才是按照当地老板喜欢看的顺序写的东西比较容易被老板通过) if one gives some reasons first, to which support the main idea, before drawing the actual idea it down. Thus, grasping theses methods in a new country would help you do something things more efficiently. Secondly, one could make more local friends more easily following the new custom (Sounds like a new point. Better start a new paragraph.). For instance, you can have many chances to get new friends if you participate in some parties hold on the Christmas Even, or the H....Day (Halloween? Halloween is just Halloween. There's no 'Halloween Day'. 如果有词不会拼,宁可不写也不能这样空着.).

However, someone believe that keeping the one's own customs also have some advantages. For example, the majority of Chinese who move to western countries may still keep their traditional customs, like drinking tea every day, to keep more healthy and raise the increase work efficiency. This custom has had a great influence on their daily lives (Americans drink coffee like how Chinese drink tea - every day, everywhere. It's not the drinking custom but the actual drink that's a reflection of people's cultural roots). Besides, keeping the old customs, in some degree, is a desire for mental spirit (There's no such thing as 'mental spirit'. I guess you mean 'spiritual security'). For that moving to a new country often means that someone has to leave his/her families or relatives. They may feel lonely when everything around has changed and seems strange. In this case, doing some traditional things may reduce or eliminate the feeling of loneliness.such as For example, making dumplings, for some oversea Chinese, (move this whole part after 'on the Spring Festival ... new friends there'. We are discussing the complete custom of 'making dumplings on the Eve of ........ with new friends...', not just the dumplings.) on the Eve of the Spring Festival Night with some new friends there, is a significant event.

As for me, assimilating into the new culture while retaining key elements of one's own customs would be a good choice. New customs can be seen as a favorable methods to adapt to the new country as soon as possible whereas the old customs can be viewed as the good chances to remember one's own country, which one loves all his/her (It's not necessary to make the essay hard to read by staying 'politically correct') life. When one takes on some of the new culture while keeping some of his/her own, one gets the excitement and opportunities (opportunities of what?) of the new culture, and at the same time keeps the familiarity and ease of his/her own culture.
