Since the invention of papermaking and printing has developed in ancient China, it brought many changes and progress in keeping documentaries and histories. Although there are advanced methods such as e-book and reading on internet to record culture and human civilization, the traditional way of printed book will not be replaced in the next two decades for the following reasons. Firstly, the convenience of printed books will still play a key role in writhing and keeping notes for the young generation in the classes. Presently, the quality of paper is developing fast from sort of heavy to recycling ones. And the weight of printed books makes them more portable than before. Writing on paper, the traditional method of keeping notes and dairy are adopted by students, which is easy for them to write down the necessary points in the classes. Consider this, it happened that some colleges have lessons by screen, named e-class. But the students missed the opportunities to face to face with their professors and also cannot underline the parts they did not understand well. The new way of reading avoids people from carrying and opening books, while they also lost the enjoyment of writing something on their interests. That is the adequate the e-book cannot provide. Secondly, the internet books have more space to keep more civilization and materials but those could be lost under the carelessness of humans. This is from my college teacher who kept his diaries and articles for 10 years on computer. However, he lost all he had within this 10 year in second due to his helper’s finger when fixed his computer. That is really distressful for anyone. People can say that it saves space and can keep every detail in order by reading and writing on computer. But the traditional way is always safe and convenient. If young people read a lot through internet, it will affect their eyes and also bring headache. Therefore, the printed book is healthier. In conclusion, there several new styles of books are also convenient but the virtue of the traditional printed books cannot be supplanted for its own characters. |
