Thank you very much for your email. It is possible, however, interested
LL.M students are required to sit for the LSAT and apply for admission
like every other J.D. applicant.

As for transferring LLM credits to a JD degree, our faculty will be taking a decision (hopefully favorable) on that issue in this spring semester.

thank you for your interest in the University of Illinois College of Law. You may apply for Advanced Standing in our J.D. program after completing our LL.M. program. This would allow you to receive a J.D. in two additional years. The application process is a competitive one and we will require that you take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). To determine if you are admitted, the Committee will review your LSAT score, your undergraduate work, any relevant work experience and your performance in our LL.M. program. We weigh your performance in the LL.M. program most heavily and typically only accept those students that perform at the highest level. You will receive credit for your international law degree (up to 30 hours) rather than any credits from the LL.M. program. We require 90 hours to graduate (30 from international law degree would leave 60 hours which could be completed in 2 years).
