Since our company can reduce expenses by limiting inventory, the best way to improve profits in all of our stores is to discontinue stocking many of our varieties of imported cheese and concentrate primarily on domestic cheeses."

In this argument, by citing the evidence that 1the five best-selling cheese at our newest store are all domestic cheddar cheeses 2 a recent survey indicates an increasing preference for domestic cheeses among its subscribers, the arguer conclude that to improve profits they should discontinue stocking many of their varieties of imported cheese and concentrate primarily on domestic cheeses. After a precise check, we can see that through the efforts they make them can not oppotimistly increase their profits, for they commit the following fallacies:
First the whole argument lie on the assumption that domestic cheeses are in great demand thus it can bring much profit. We can easily see that this assumption is unwarranted. The arguer fails to tell us the exact number of the sale of the domestic and imported cheese in all the stores. Perhaps the sale of the imported cheese is larger, or perhaps the single profit of each imported cheese is far larger. Without strong evidence, we can not say that just importing domestic cheese will be more profitable.
Even the profits of the domestic cheese is larger the writer should weigh the advantages and disadvantages of discontinued stocking imported cheese thorongly.Perhaps it is the variety of choice that consumer concentrate. If so the profits may not rise by this way.
Even the method is working, the evidence is not enough to support the conclusion that domestic cheese is in better need. The five best selling cheeses may not count a lot, because the total amount of imported cheese may be greater than the number of domestic cheese. Also the fact that the data is collected in the newest store is enough to weaken the assumption that the number is represent able.
Besides the following the survey itself is doubtable. The worldly trend may not represent the local trend; even the local trend is controversial. Also lacking evidence that subscribers are representative, we can not conclude the survey's efficacy.
In conclusion, to better support the evidence the writer should inform me the reliability of the survey. The numbers of the stores is to be larger and more representative; I also need a full data of the profits of domestic and imported cheese.
