Structural Engineering Research Assistantship
Starting Fall of 2009, positions for two assistantships are available for research
related to steel and composite structures, emphasizing seismic engineering, blast
or impact resistance. Yearly stipend along with medical benefits and tuition
waiver will be available to the selected candidate. Talented and enthusiastic
individuals with a B.S. or M.S. degree in structural engineering, structural
mechanics or other related fields of science and engineering are desired.
Applicants from foreign countries are encouraged to apply as well.
Candidates are encouraged to apply for graduate studies leading to Ph.D. or M.S.
in structural engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental
Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Requirements for the M.S. research assistantship would include:B.S. in Civil Engineering with GPA > 3.0;( preferably) Research experiences in undergraduate study
Requirements for the Ph.D. research assistantship would include:B.S. in Civil Engineering with GPA > 3.0;( preferably) M.S. in Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;Research experiences and preferably publication of one conference proceedings.
