We often say that art comes from life, but is higher than life. I tender to agree that imaginative works really own a more lasting significance than factual accounts even though they are less objective and accurate than factual accounts. And it is because of using more profound thoughts and more grandiose(这个词不好,带贬义了,用exaggerated) scenes that the imaginative works show more significance.
Factual accounts(其实是factual examples, 题目中的意思是imaginative works 比 doing factual accounts更...), such as newsreel, history and photography, use an objective way to(把这个换成in an objective eye或者though objective glasses更地道,你这样说太中文化了) exhibit what things exactly are without reprocessing by the author. They merely describe the real characters of the realm of factuality(这种表述也不对劲). Take the history of the World War 2 for example, we can only realize the specific history, not in full picture, (缺but) through the articles, the photos, the newspaper.
Just the contrary, however, more emotional factors are involved in the invention of(重复了imaginative的意思) imaginative works. Imaginative works focus on depicting or outlining the features of the world around us. Recreating an idea, mood, atmosphere and background, as by artistic means, include association, hyperbole, and so on. These abundant delineative approaches make the description more bright and vivid than factual accounts. Accordingly, the old and unacquainted story or history become more easygoing to people. Still the World War 2, the novel "Band of Brothers”,for instance, is more interesting and moving than the insipid history display, the readers identify with the roles of the novel, just like they play with them, sympathize with them, the readers can deeply realize how important peace is. Moreover, as Henri Mattisse ,a famous artist, said" precision is not reality",just like the Ancient Greek Mythology, which reveals some defects of human being. And science fictions, which adumbrate(promote/accelerate) and encourage the development of science. So, only imagine work can provide such lasting impressions.
Furthermore, imagination works feel freer to explain thoughts and feelings. Therefore, the factual accounts do not compare with imagination works, not only from depth of idea, but from extent of insight. Besides, even if it's true that an imagination work was nothing more than pure fantasy, with no history context, it still can leave more space for people to think than a factual account. I remember Charlie Chaplin said that "There are more valid facts and details in works of art than there are in history books.”(这句话太可惜了,一点应有的作用都没有起到.1是放在文章中间,2是居然用I remember这种绝对不能在议论性文章当中出现的结构. 改: were their superiorities defined as Charlie Chaplin(倒装句式强调优越性和权威性), art works demonstrate "more valid facts and details" than the history books.然后放到段落开头去) Consider our great novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude”, did Gabriel Garcia Marquez's fictional portrayal of life of every generation of Buendia provide a more “meaningful picture of human experience"than a history book? If so, will this work hold more “lasting significant" than bare factual account? The answer is clear. Therein lies the reason for their lasting significance.
In sum, without prior factual accounts fictional works lose much their foundation. Yet only through the exercise of imagination can we convey human experience in its entire dimension(这个词用得烂!用extent), and thereby fully understand and appreciate life in other times and places. And it is human experience, and not bare facts and figure, that endure in our minds and souls
结构还是比较清晰的,但是句式过于单调,用词也有一些问题.
时间还比较早,以目前的情况看,多多积累一点词句,尤其是客观性的动词(通常以物做主语, 比如ensue:Trouble will ensue if wind of this scandal gets out)!,总不能上了考场就开始sth have... / sth make + adj 吧. |
