Argument 162
A recent study shows that people living on the continent of North America suffer 9 times more chronic fatigue and 31 times more chronic depression than do people living on the continent of Asia. Interestingly, Asians, on average, eat 20 grams of soy per day, whereas North Americans eat virtually none. It turns out that soy contains phytochemicals called isoflavones, which have been found to possess disease-preventing properties. Thus, North Americans should consider eating soy on a regular basis as a way of preventing fatigue and depression.

[synopsis]
First of all, the author fails to eatablish a causal relationship between Asians' eating soy per day and a low percentage of people suffering chronic fatigue and depression.
In addition, the author ignores other facors that may explain why a much high higher percentage of people in North America suffer chronic fatigue and depression.
[writing]
The author recommends North Americans to eat soy reguarly so as to avoid fatigue and depression because soy contains phytochemicals called isoflavones which help to prevent disease. To support the assertion, the author cites a recent study that North American people suufer 9 times more chonic fatigue and 31 times more chronic depression than Asian people do. Moreover, Asians eat 20 grams of soy per day on average, while North Americans eat almost none. However, several important concerns which the author failed to address in the analysis , may seriously undermine the argument.

First of all, the author fails to eatablish a causal relationship between Asians' eating soy per day and a low percentage of people suffering chronic fatigue and depression. Even if as the author claims that the soy contains isoflavones possessing disease-proventing properties which the author lacks reliable and scientific evidence, it doesn't guarantee that isoflavones are beneficial to guarding from fatigue and depression efficaciously. Maybe the better immunity to fatigue and depression is due to that the Asians have rice-centered and more multifarious dietary habits. Without ruling out such possibilities, the author could not rush to the correlation of eating soy and pvepenting fatigue and depression. Anyway, to convince me, the author need to offer more scientific research information about the medical value and effect of the soy.

In addition, the author ignores other facors that may explain why a much high higher percentage of people in North America suffer chronic fatigue and depression. Fatigue and depression happens usually under high work pressure or marital worries or bad connections. It's highly likely that during this time period the people in North America encounter more life pressure living in a quicker-paced and more competitive society. Obviously, comprehensive analysis is necessary to identify the actual cause of the phenomenon. However, overlooking these circumstance factors, it’s biased and presumptuous to seek for the reson simly from the diet, let alone attributing to the soy.

To sum up, the conclusion lacks credibility because the evidence cited in the analysis does not lend strong support to what the author maintains. To strengthen the argument , the author would have to provide more evidence that eating soy helps to preventing fatigue and depression. To better assess the argument, we would need more information regarding life quality report in both areas.

However, several important concerns which the author failed to address in the analysis , may seriously undermine the argument. (too long!)

First of all, the author fails to eatablish a causal relationship between Asians' eating soy per day (soy eating habit) and a low percentage of people suffering chronic fatigue and depression. Even if as the author claims that the soy contains isoflavones possessing disease-proventing properties which the author lacks reliable and scientific evidence, it doesn't guarantee that isoflavones are beneficial to guarding from fatigue and depression efficaciously. (It is a little blurring. Maybe you could divide them into 2 part: whether soy can avoid disease and even if soy can avoid disease, is it because of isoflavones? )Maybe the better immunity to fatigue and depression is due to that the Asians have rice-centered and more multifarious dietary habits.

Fatigue and depression happens usually under high work pressure or marital worries or bad connections.(TOO ASSERTIVE! HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS RELATIONSHIP? It might be better if you say high work pressure or marital worries may cause fatigue and depression. ) It's highly likely that during this time period the people in North America encounter more life pressure living in a quicker-paced and more competitive society. Obviously, comprehensive analysis is necessary to identify the actual cause of the phenomenon. However, overlooking these circumstance factors, it’s biased and presumptuous to seek for the reson simly from the diet, let alone attributing to the soy. (I think this part belongs to that whether soy could cause disease decrease.)

Please be careful of your spelling. And make your points more clear and reasonable . Otherwise it is a pretty good argument.
