  昨天上网查case status，发现已经approve了。以下是材料的list，感兴趣的朋友可以
根据自己的情况参考。
   我的基本情况是：自费，非敏感专业，和lg在一个学校。

                            CHECK LIST
BASIC DOCUMENTS:
1. Form I-539 with application fee of $140
2．Original I-20 form for F-1   
3．Cover letter for requesting a change of status  
       (With a letter from the department attached)
4. Photocopy of admission letter   
5. Photocopy of my passport
6. Photocopy of my visa stamp
7. Photocopy of my I-94 (both sides)
8. Photocopy of my previous I-20 for F2
9. Photocopy of my SEVIS I-20 for F2
  
FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS:
10. Original Certificate of Deposit from Bank of China
          Indicating my current CD account balance of CNY ***
          about ***  if converted in U.S. dollar (CNY/USD=1/0.12082)
11. Original Certificate of Deposit from Bank of China
     Indicating my sponsor’s CD account balance of CNY ***
         about *** if converted in U.S. dollar (CNY/USD=1/0.12082)
12. Original Reference Letter from Bank of America
          Indicating my current account balance of $***  (joint account)
13. Letter of Supporting from my sponsor
14. Working and Income Certificate of my sponsor (Original)
15. Photocopy of Certificate of Relative Relationship between my sponsor and I
16. Photocopy of Bank Statements of last 3 months at Bank of America

关于材料的说明：
第(1)项，支付申请费的check我是pay给：Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration
Services
第(3)项 附上的信是系里说要提前上一门课的信，我随手放进材料了，在cover letter里
也随口说了一下。
第(10)项 中行的存款证明的空白处打上了当日的汇率；我听说也可以另开一张汇率证明
的。如果有人民币的存款证明，又担心要补交汇率证明的朋友可以参考。
第(25)，(26)项上的地址，以及我的永久地址，都不是一样的；但是BCIS好像并不关心这
一点。

l/index.htm#H 的信息和前辈们的经验（再次感谢），我是这么整理材料的：
(一)信封上除了写自己和BCIS的地址外，还在左下角写上了：
Original Submission
Form I539: change of status from F2 -> F1
(二)信封里面的材料：
我用了4个回形针，一个用来把支票固定在材料的最上面；第二个用来固定(3)-(9)的材料
，第三个固定(10)-(16), 第四个固定(17)-(26)的材料；
我在一些复印件上贴了label，注明材料内容；
我在材料上贴了那种小tab，注明了页码；注意BCIS的官方网站上说：“The tabs should
be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.”

Wumi, i also change my status by Texas service center. I don't know how long it takes. I sent my application on the beginning of June and so far don't get the result.

此外，假如2003年10月才F2到美国的话，F2还可以转F1吗？

for my case, 5月6号received, 6月26号approved. TX center.
全奖。 材料就按姐妹们提供的list。 没有户籍公证和户籍证明。递交了lg的在校证明和三个月的银行流水账。
昨天查的时候还没有任何动静呢。今天一查，甚是高兴！

1月底f2来美，5月中file application,6月中要求补充材料。他们受
到材料一周后approve。

太高兴了，呵呵。

我觉得有奖学金的朋友申请时一定要申请expedite processing，否则可能很慢。
这个是有依据的，大家google以下"NSC Open House"就知道了。还有一个relevant的文档
是http://www.region1.nafsa.org/NSCOpenHouse2002Q&A.doc

“As to your second question, we most certainly will expedite c/s requests  
for students who have an assistantship and need to have the c/s granted.
We had a teleconference Monday with some folks from Iowa and this was a big  
issue.  The students need to indicate in their letter when requesting an  
expedite something to the affect “please grant expedite assistantship  
pending” or something similar.

另外，补充材料的朋友，尽量使用他们提供给你的信封，那上面有条形码。

In order to start my program in xx University, I would like to apply for  
change of status and request expedite processing so that I can take advantage  
of the benefits available to F-1 students. After getting my degree at the xx  
University, I plan to xx ( describe your intended job, blahblah ).
