that后面是对what句的进一步解释和具体化，就是同义重复。
年轻的人是年轻的或是不老的
64岁的人是成熟的，同义与what nobody would think of denying.
关于是否64岁就成熟，相比于其他选项应该好些。
his,明显不是指Romero, Romero只是他（准确地说是his distinction)proved 的东西里面的一个人物~

我的问题是：由后句得 definite search导出facts，那么前面应该是 definite investigation导出facts才对，而且后句有个such，应指代前句的occasionally new facts，为什么陈圣元解释说非A导出非B？



我做填空的一个大麻烦是：仔细看了一上午和半个下午的方法分析，可是真到做题还是不熟练，没有感觉找对应，找不到，而且最后2题总错，看分析能明白真到做题又不行了。太绝望了，求指教……谢谢。。

这道题yield new facts是关键， 过去的某个理论屈服于新观点，所以过去的理论一定是不好的，也就是和新观点的特征属性相反，所以看后半句话叙述新观点属性的语言取反就可以了。is the result of 是典型的因果关系的短语，所以后面的话必须认真读，尤其是修饰语，因为前面that后也是修饰语，所以这里对仗，in a definite direction就是关键了。 所以前面空格填上in a definite direction的反义词汇就行了，请注意这里必须把 in后面的整个修饰成分带回去填，而不是仅仅definite的反义词。为什么？ 因为你要看前面修饰语和后半句修饰语的对仗关系。 后面说明确的方向，取反就是不明确的方向，模糊的方向，没有经过定义指导过的方向，所以选B就行了。
