As time goes by, we have been absorbed into a brand new era of technology, which has a tremendous influence on our daily life, especially our ways of working and living. But fundamentally, our social customs and ethics are hinge on our own intrinsic quality from beginning to end. Hence, I partly agree with the arguer.(开口比较单薄)
As the technology develops, people divide the work more and more meticulous. It is just like that painters do not need to care about the carpentry, while carpenters do not have the trouble with painting. People only need to concern about their own duties so that they are freed from much burdensome labor and attain spare time to enjoy their lives.
Furthermore, as the electronic technology, especially the Internet, comes along, people can obtain information more conveniently and rapidly, which leads to the interpenetration of customs and manners of different countries and cultures. Then here comes the situations: The Orient people begin to celebrate Thanksgiving Day and Christmas jauntily while the Occident people proceed to accept the Chinese festivals such as Spring festival and Mid-autumn day. The Orient people learn to use knife and fork when they are dining while the Occident people start to get the hang of using chopsticks gleefully. In addition, a number of mixed-style buildings spread all over the world. In the meantime, Instant Message (IM) through the Internet allows people associate with each other much more conveniently. But on the other hand, as the saying goes, "As good found as lost", it adds up to the idleness of beneficial egress, which is substituted by indulging in the Internet. I ever heard about a person who chats with his friend even though the friend is in the next room.(这段相比上下两段都显得过多,反倒衬托出上下两段没论述透)
However, even though the developed technology has a gigantic impact on our social customs and ethics, the ultimate determinants of the latter are contingent on us, especially our inherent characters and the regulations we set up, instead of technology. Therefore, to some extent we should impose restriction on the development of technology, as well as induct it. For instance, technology of cloning could not be utilized except for medical treatment.
In sum, we should do our best to maximize the benefits brought about by developing technologies while take measures to avoid and handle the possible drawbacks. Hence, we can live a better life with the advanced technology.
