Arts, is one of the most famous issues discussing by people today, which impulse into every aspect of human's live. Wherever you go, whenever you do, the arts always be arounding with you. Countless painting, music, literature not only bring more color to our common lives, but also lift up our spirit. Then the issue raise, whether the arts can also reveal the hidden ideas and impulse of a society?

Admittedly, one of the major purposes and functions of arts today is entertainment. The novels, such as "Harry Potter" bring people to a wonderful world full with magics and imaginations; the songs, such as pop music, rock and roll, let people feel vigorous and happy; the painting as a kind of ornament make people's lives more comfortab and relax. From this sense, we can hardly find any values the arts have that can reveal the deep things of mental means from the soceity.

However, the entertainment is just a part of the arts' functions. The true importance of arts is discribe the emotion and feeling of wirters, painters, and musicians. Through painting, music and literature, artists can represent their emotional response to life, such as hope, happniess, serenity and so on, all of which are hidden in the deep hearts of all human being. The Van Gogh's paint "the Starry Night" refect his love of beautiful life; the Beethoven's "Symphony Number Five" express his resistance to distressful fate against deafness; and the book such as " Beautiful Life" represent an idea of pursuing peace, beauty and virtue in life. Therefore, through the artistic works, we can access to people's hidden ideas as well as the ideas of a society.

Forthermore, since the art originate from people's real life, so when they are describing the fealings and attitudes of individuals, meanwhile, they also reflects the really social situation and people's living condition at that period. For example, through the Van Gogh's "Potato Eaters", we can learn many about the misery of miners who lived at that sciety. Also many literatures such as " Les Miserables ", one of the most famous novels in the French literature, focus on telling us about the experience and though of people in society while in turn makes us aware about its own impulses.

Also, there are many other atistic works that derectly reveal the hidden ideas and impulse of a soceity including both the good and evil, so that help us understand the soceity more clearly. Here, I want to cite one of the most famous literaters in Old China--"Luxun". Around a hafe of centry ago, it is the most darkness time for Chinese people. At that time, people are fighting against strong enemy,  numerious people died in the battle. Also, the starvirng and porverty were afflicting people. Every of Luxun's work reveal the society from differnet aspects. And it is just his works that bring people hopeness and belifes, and guiding people to stand up from mistery. So the arts, sometimes, is the best way to reveal the impulses of a soceity.

To sum up, the arts' function and influence are far beyond people's imagination. They can not only bring us relax and happy things, but also put the hidden ideas and deep senses of a coeity in front of us, so I agree with the speaker's assertion from this sense.
