I agree with the author advocates that criticism will constrain the artist’s creativity. It’s safe to say artist should pay attention to personal interesting relied on individual creativity, rather than the vulgar comment.

On the one hand, it’s obvious that the most significant quality of artist is the high creativity on which they depend to create the work of art which are often beyond the time they lived and, frequently, derives from the capability presented form artist’s birth. Not only may critics of the same time around the world be lack of comprehension to them, but the may also, fundamentally, consider their work worthless, because the artist’s inscrutable opinion is too advanced to be comprehended by contemporary. Jorge Luis Borges, a famous Argentine writer, said” Only the second-rate poem writes talent poetry every day. ” His implication is that: Only the best poem has the unyielding spirit of breakthrough and innovation, and the courage to face criticism even if he (or she ) can’t be accept by the others.

Further more, as we all know that an art critic is a person who specializes in evaluating art, but not all of professional art critics have a keen eye for art and a formidable knowledge of art. No worse than that of the ill-equipped critics with a mean little mind whose comments always have caustic verbal attack .Both the abusive remarks and endless criticism to which critics have put them have created the time at which talent artist’s development is so much hindered reflected in the restrained creativity that impeded the progress of society seriously. Take Camille Claudel as an example, she has an outstanding talent and an unique style at the sculpture. However, Camille Claudel, as the both the status of Rodin’s student and lover, had never been recognized by critics who considered her as a parasite only depended on Rodin’s glory. That nobody concerned her carving and continually malicious words by critics made Camille Claudel spend the last thirty years at a mental hospital without any works.  


On the other hand, it’s also necessary, to some extent, to refer critic’s comment. It’s safe to say that art should be a positive description of the objective world, even if show the dark side of society. For example, as a branch of art, music has been widely accepted by people all around the world. There are some kinds of extreme music which promote violence, murder and sex so flagrant that trigger a rise in juvenile crime rate, in other words, which lead a bad effect to whole of society. The composer of music should listen the voice of critics, after all, people don’t want the world to be profaned by the dross and hope to remain a pure land for the art in mind.


Consequently, due to the above-mentioned reasons, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that artist with the art creativity should stick to own opinion on the production, however, it maybe an extreme conduction to pay little attention to the criticism, after all, art is a positive description of the objective world. If the criticism has some constructive advice to your work, it’s not harmful to adopt it.
