The interaction between artists and their critics gives the continuous impetus to art. The criticism is not only a kind of appreciation of art, but it has the ability to promote art as well. At the same time, critics, who has widely professional knowledge, can let the cretivities of artists soar without being misunderstood, or even not understood.

To begin with, I have to clearly show my understanding of art, even though this concept might be controversial in different ideology. As I see it, the content and form of art should be in concert with the time and acknowledged by the majority of people, and the artists are just the creater of this kind of art. As for the nonmainstream art, I have no will to challenge the meaning of their existence, but when we disscuss the relationship of artists and critics, they seems not universally representative. Besides, the critics of art should be the people who express reasoned oppions in professional perspective, otherwise the undermining and contraining of the artists' creativity are somewaht inevitable.

To begin with, the critism is the best kind of feedback and guidance of art. Critism is not simply like entertainment, which includes acceptance for fun and relax. The critics must primarily understand the art, and then criticize in a original perspective, through communation with the artists by the approach of critical article. On this premise, the critism can really promote the level of the art and make the direction of creation clearly. The artists can therefore treat the critism as the referance of his development, and aquire the demands and insterests of the public, which are just the sourse of their creativity of creation. Artists who often bogged down in the world of themselves, can hardly find the inspiration of new creation. At this time, the critics also paly an important role of catalysts, which accelerate the creation of new ideas. A Hibernian writer and critic, Bernard Shaw, suggested the author who he criticized, "I could understand more about your article, because i could view it in a wider and profound perspective". Form his somewhat extreme standpoint, we can find out that just because of insightful criticism, art can keep vigorous and developing.

In addition, apart from the direct influence of the criticism upon art, based on position of public, it can elevate the whole taste of the people, meanwhile indirectly put forward the demands on art creation. Except having the eyes of finding beauty, the heart of understanding beauty, the critics must have more professional knowledge than the public, and wider horizental in other field, such as history, society and philosophy. All of these make it possible that the critics after accumulating the experience of appreciation, deepen the public's sight towards art. An atmosphere of expecting a better opus might permeate into people's daily lives, and therefore make the artists advanced in the creation of art. They can hudle the trodition and find the inspiration in a new way, and therefor more spark of creativity must come out in the new environment. Simply put, the critics just bridge the public and artists, and indirectly make art advanced with the ever-increasing demands of people.

In sum, not only can critics directly affect the artists to create art with higher level, but criticism can promote the whole understanding of public, and indirectly provide the artists sufficient inspiration.
