Topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

As we all know, books are the progress of human development. However, have you ever imagined that one day these printed books would disappear? Recently, many people discuss the topic about student will not use printed books any more after twenty year from now on. From my opinion, I will definitely agree with this statement.

To begin with, traditional printed books can not afford such the huge amount of information, which is still increasing at an amazing speed. We now lived in a world where knowledge is accumulated at an unpredentedly rapid, not to mention that how would be after two decades. The students should learn more skills and knowledge than we do now. If we remain all the content on the printed books, hardly can we imagine that a student should take how many books to school. Maybe he would pack a very large luggage.

On the other hand, we have applied e-books since several years ago, which is very convenient and popular in our students’ daily lives. With the advanced technology, we only need to hold a small micro-memory stick, which could contain thousands of books, as the collection of a library, if you have enough capacitance. Moreover, lots of schools have carried out online course, why not online books? We can use many things more available than printed-book.

In addition, the printed book means we should cut forest ceaselessly to produce papers. Nowadays, deforestation has caused serious environmental problems, including extinction of plants and animals, global warming, and desertification, which attracts broad attention to protect the forest. In order to prevent the earth turning to a bare ball, it is better to stop cutting trees. Thus, from environmental perspective, printed-book should be replaced quickly, not even as long as twenty years.

It can be seen from above, no one could deny that traditional printed book has played an important role during the human society. Nevertheless, according to the speedy development of technology, it should disappear and be replaced by more advanced methods gradually, especially after twenty years.
