新加坡的学校我申请了两所——NTU和NUS。在NTU申请的是School of Computer Engineering，而在NUS申请的不是计算机学院而是NUS提供的一个崭新的Program——NGS。好多人并不了解NGS，这里做个介绍，因为个人认为NGS要比传统意义的学院更加卓越。

NGS全称为“The National University of Singapore Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering”，中文翻译为“新加坡国立大学综合科学与工程研究生院”，专门提供多个跨学科专业，为新加坡、亚太地区乃至全球培养能够从事交叉学科研究工作的人才，他独立于其他学院但又同时与他们保持密切合作。

在天津大学的NGS项目全额奖学金招生讲座时的基本介绍：
NGS是新加坡国立大学一个新成立的特殊的研究生院（started in 2003）。该学院旨在培养高素质交叉学科的科研人才，因此其学科要求和奖学金数目（S$3200/per month）高于普通专业phd奖学金(S$1500-2000 per month)。该奖学金没有毕业后在新加坡工作的要求。目前NGS可以招收各个学院的学生从医药化工到电子类，学生招入后会被安排到相应专业的导师实验室做研究。NGS与许多国内外顶尖大学和研究中心有着紧密的合作，包括澳州大学、剑桥、东京大学、哈佛、耶鲁、瑞士的Karolinska Institute等等，因此该学院phd学生有机会得到联合培养机会。该学院的学生入学期间拥有实验室轮换的机会(lab rotation), 可以根据个人兴趣选择自己喜欢的方向和导师。目前新加坡加大对生物投资力度，相比其他国家，其就业前景广阔。如果你希望接受到世界一流的教育并选择自己喜欢的方向，但是不想面临美国严峻的就业压力、 5-6年的phd学习期以及NIH生物资助缩减所带来的一系列问题， NGS无疑是你最好的选择。申请时间一般是前一年的9月到11月（fall intake 秋季入学）和第二年的三月到五月（spring intake 春季入学）。
