Oneargument states that higher education should be open to everyone,regardless of background. The opposing argument says that only theelite students should be allowed to proceed. Discuss these ideas. Do you agree or disagree? Explain why. 教育


Nowadays,whether every individual has the right to pursue his own higher education no matter how his background is becoming a fierce competitive issue on our society. Different people would show different opinions according to their own distinctive prospects.Some people would think that everyone has the right to choose whatever they want to learn and what degrees they are trying to get. Meanwhile, however, different group of people might object this view by indicating that the higher educations and degrees are only for those who are elite and genius in specific fields. As far as I am concerned, I would strongly agree with the first opinion which is every individuals should be granted with the right to pursue their goals with the higher educations and at the mean time educational systems should also provide more opportunities to any one who has the willing and eager to learn. The following reasons and aspects will enhance and strengthen my point of view.

First of all, it is all about the human equality .Every person has the right to choose and determine what to do by obeying the law.Admittedly, higher educations require more precise and broad view of certain subjects.But this could not be the reason or excuse to block the way if the person who is having a great potential or passion on what he chooses to learn.Some universities do welcome this type of students.

Furthermore, it is unfair to deprive the chances for the one who wants to learn just because of their races, ethnics ,believes, or even economy.We should not be judged by our none intellectual factors in the educational fields. A very good example is the case took place in UCLA & UC Berkely.These universities are trying to admit more African and Latino students instead of reducing the admission rates of the Asian and so called White students.Many people condemned this action.Every candidate has to be evaluated by their abilities and potentials  not by how they are looking or how they used to be.  

Last but certainly not least, the higher rate of better education would create a more civilized society and harmonious relationship between every human beings. We seldom hear that many political turbulence ,instabilities or wars would happen in the countries with higher educational rates like those are currently happening in Pakistan or Iran.Education is the best way to change the world.

In conclusion, the higher institutes, universities should  provide more chances to the people who is willing to learn and who has the passion to learn rather than narrowing them to a tiny faction of people.
