The development of technologies promote the process of society, the droplet of technologies permeate every aspect of society suxh as social customes and etnics. However, can technologies determeine social customes and ethics?
Today, we can find the shadow of technologies in all aspects of society because of Industry Revolution, women who should stay at home, nurturing children and caring for elders go through the change from home to technologies to promote the production of produce the burdens of farmers were lessened. The influence of the technologies and save people from the complicate, trivial computing works. Tele-communication tools such as fax, Internet and telephone have become the major means of communicating.
However, social customs and ethics constrain the development technologies and sciences. With the born of clone sheep, people dispute whether the clone technology should apply with people. At last, people from all over the world vote against this technologies. In medicine, nobody refuses that technologies play a significant role in the progress the application of medicine technologies on some aspects of society, such as Euthanasia. Although this method given by technology lessens the confliction of death, it battles with the social customs and ethics leading to the applied limit of this kind of technology.
It is no doubt that technology improve the life level, influence people’s thought, promote the development of society, and affect social customs and ethics but it can’t determine social customs and ethics which is the fruit of thought from our antecedent. Some innovative things—the byproduct of technology induced by technology confront confliction with social customs and ethics. what we can do is to find balance between them so that promote better human process. For example, we can enact legislation which can compel the application of technology and at the same time
conduct it with reasonable method. Because culture and surrounding play more vital roles than technology in determining social customs and ethics.
