Many of the challenges confronted with our nation today were also experienced in the similar situations in the past，so I agree with the statement in this level. However, history is not absolutely constant and unchanging in the recorded times. The trend definitely leads to differences between people in the various periods. Studying the difference and diversity of history can also be beneficial, not only breaking illusion, but other merits of study of history are equally important as well.

I agree with the statement insofar as, in study of history, we learn that human nature, such as the constant pursue of material, fairness and freedom, democracy and equality, have unchanging over recorded history. People lived in different periods could meet the similar enduring social problems. For instance, the ways in which societies have improved their productive force, in order to satisfy human material need, have continually evolved the course of the human history; The ways in which societies have legislated morality, as to guarantee human’s fairness and freedom, is also in a continual state of human history; The way in which societies have issued a sound systems, for democracy and equality, can continue in recorded evolution of human history. The social ills have troubled almost every nations both in recent and in the past. The illusion, under this circumstance, can be break down through studying of human history that people between different periods have various lives.

Admittedly, though inherent human nature has remained constant, different times make different history which also is beneficial for our society. History is not a duplicating machine, but it is a process of development and evolvement. People today, through the outcomes and lessons of history, deal more effectively with social issues than in the past by studying human history. For example, during the Industrial Revolution in Europe in the 1660s, printed literature started becoming common; during the Media Revolution of this century, where real events, people and things have been recorded "live" on visual and audio equipment for posterity; and most importantly, since the birth of the all-encompassing Internet of the world, multi-media have make the records in many visual angle. When it comes to differences between people in the different times, people should lean about more lessons form the predecessors. It is obvious that, with the development of science and technology, the improvement of society, and the heightened awareness of cultural evolution, people in different periods are significantly different. These differences are also beneficial for us to appreciate human history.

On the other hand, it is other equally important benefits to study history, not only breaking down illusion. Leaning about the courage and sage of human’s great leaders, scientists, and politicians, provides us with one way to similar achievement, at least to face the difficulty. Leaning about the mistakes in the old time helps us to avoid repeating them. Leaning about the transform of our societies helps us to mitigate the problems as war, violence. People benefit to understand and appreciate human history which broad his or her version to solve current problems.

To sum up, studying history could break down the illusion insofar as human nature over the whole history has never changed in different time period. Moreover, learning about the experience and accomplishment of predecessor make us be more insightful and inspired to success in a society. It is worthwhile to study human history and benefit as a society.
