I cannot agree more on the assertion that technology do have influence on As the development of technologies advanced, quite a number of fresh stuff are rushing into our daily life, which supposed to make our life easier, more efficient and convenient. At the same time, voices arise doubting that technologies not only have influence but actually determine social customs and ethics. As far as I am concerned, social customs and ethics to certain extent meanwhile cannot help doubting that if technologies have the strength to determine either social customs or ethics.

In the first place, technologies do have great influence on myriad of realms of social customs and ethics. When coming to the everyday life, once upon a time, people use letter to communicate with each other, which may cost lots of time conveying certain emotion or some information. Nowadays, there are alternatives for us to choose from to communicate with each other in instant. When coming to deeper, more serious social problems, such as the feminine issues, I also think it is technologies that make the social position of women equal with men's. Women are often occupied with endless house works in the ancient times so that they have little time to work outside or do the things they like. But now, washing machine and other this kind of stuff set them free to chase their dream or at least feed themselves.

What's more, in some circumstances, the influence cast on technologies by social customs and ethics cannot be ignored as well. Clone is always a heated issue since this kind of technology has been developed. The most controversial part is that whether it coherent to our ethics. Voices from different culture background vary as well. Some claim that clone can solve the problem of organ transplanting and so forth, while others claim that may be against ethics. It is the controversy that prevent this kind of technology from advancing.


Finally, to be effective, technologies will and should obey certain social customs and ethics. Technologies make things easier and more convenient in our daily life but sometimes can also cause problems which may make our life in a mess. Take the micro camera for instance, if it is used to keep an eye on the valuable article in museum in case it is stolen, that is meaningful. If it is used by some bad guy to spy others' personal life, it is definitely annoying.


To sum up, certain changes on custom and ethics do take place which caused by the development of technology. Thanks to the wisdom of human, technology grease our life. Meanwhile we shouldn't have neglected that only keep the pace with social customs and ethnics can they act more effective.
