昨天写的，第一次限时成功，大家看看吧，有问题不要客气，尽量说。谢谢

我的outline是这样的。
1 阐述video的优点，一个是准确性，一个是多媒体性，
2 简述video的缺点，一个是要求有设备，没有准备的时候不能随时记录，一个是缺乏作者的精神。
3 阐述written records的优点，一个是可以记录一些细节，比如数据，一个是可以记录作者的思想。
最后的结论是两者都重要。

The video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life that it has become a more important form of documentation than written records.

Has the video camera become a more important form of documentation than written records in contemporary life? The speaker claimed so, for the reason that the video camera provides a more precise and convincing record of the events. I grant the speaker's point of view. But, at the same time, the advantages of written records cannot be overlooked.

Admittedly, video camera indeed has a few outstanding benefits which cannot be reached by written record. First, the video camera can make the record so exact and persuasive that no one would suspect its verity. For example, when an accident happens, the words of the witnesses are far from convincing, for the reason that most people believe their own eyes rather than other ones'. But when the videotape is shown out, everyone can see the whole process of the accident and hence will clearly and justly decide who is to blame. In the second place, what the video camera shows us is a multidimensional record that will gives us a more objective impression of events. Here we can take Marco Polo for an opposite example. Marco Polo, who went to China hundreds of years ago, had written a book describing his visit after the seventeen-year tourism. The book gave an exaggerated description of the reality in China and made the westerners consider China as a paradise. And that shows the inaccuracy lying in written records.

However, the camera videos have some problems. On one hand, making a video record requires equipment and tapes. When an urgent event happens, it is highly possible that lacking of tapes prevents one from recording it accurately. On the other hand, the video records are deficient in the maker's psyche. And that makes the record a little bit dry and unimaginative.

Facing the several weak points of the video camera, we will consider the advantages of the written records. In the first place, there is something that cannot be recorded by the video camera, such as the principles in a scientific discipline, the digital details, and some statistics. In the second place, although the author's opinion will influence the facticity of the written record, it actually becomes a strongpoint. For the videotape will never enroll the minds of people as one part of the record. And thinking of people in deferent eras is another kind of record we should have if we want to understand the society more effectively. In addition, the thought will trigger the reader's inspiration, which is also cannot be attained by video camera.

To sum up, both the video camera and written records are necessary in the modern life. Without video camera, we will lose part of the accuracy of a record. Without written records, we will lose some important information, such as some statistics. Therefore, neither of them can replace the other one, and both have contributions to the contemporary society.

嗯，你说的还是很有道理滴！
尤其是那个马可波罗的破例子。当时一看还剩一刻钟了，还两大段没写，一起急，满脑袋都是那个间接引起西方列强侵略的外国友人，结果就硬着头皮往上拽。本来想说如果有更加精确的record就可以避免那帮老外对中国的过分幻想的，刚要写到“西方列强”就汗在那儿了……:L 确实是用的不怎么样。
