Topic 15
By neighbors are meant people who live near us. After acquainted with each other, good neighbor can be as close as relatives. Personally, if my neighbors can be viewed as good neighbors, three primary qualities are essentially needed.
First, good neighbors should be kind-hearted. A good example of this is one of my neighbors when I was living in the apartment. He lived next to me and we got on well with each other. One day I was working at the computer when it did not respond. I was not good at computer so I went to ask my neighbor-a graduate on computer science-if he could help me. He was doing cleaning then, but he agreed to help me immediately. The problem was solved after a while and I was very grateful to his kindness. Such a kind-hearted neighbor is really a good neighbor.
The second quality a good neighbor should have is sense of humor. Usually we do not want to talk with neighbors who are lack of sense of humor because we may feel very boring when talking with them. In talking with humorous neighbors, we can be more relaxed and enjoyable. We can also laugh together with them, which can make us more optimistic. Therefore, a person with sense of humor can usually be a welcomed neighbor and surely a good neighbor.
Intelligence is also a very important quality. Living with an intelligent neighbor can lead us to understand more about life and the world. Their behaviors and speeches may conduct us to think profoundly, which can be very helpful for promoting our personalities. So neighbors with intelligence can be regarded as good neighbors.
Admittedly, there are other qualities that a good neighbor should have. But for me, good neighbors are those who are more kind-hearted, humorous and instructive. I think these three qualities are among the most important ones.

以后每天2篇TWE。首先要把前几期的补上!!:):)

Topic 7
As major sources of recreation, movies and television play a very important role in ordinary people’s daily life. Those who watch movies or television a lot are surely influenced by these two media. As far as the effect of movies and television is concerned, the following three aspects can be included:
First, people can learn what is new throughout the nation and around the world. With the spread of television, news reports on television have become a major media center for a lot of people. They watch news regularly from News At Eight AM in the morning to China Good Night in the evening. It is these news reports that influence people on their thought about the world.
Second, as people spend longer time with movies and television, less time is available for people to talk and play with others, which makes people isolated. A particular example for this is one of my classmates, who is addicted to watching movies and television. I can imagine how she likes movies and television just by listening to her talking about plots of movies and television series all day along. But when the others do not talk about movies or television, she just keeps silent and does her own things. She almost does not have any interest in any other thing except movies and television. Consequently, no one wants to make friends with her and she has to live in a mood of loneliness. This case is not rare. This negative influence of movies and television really do great harm on altering people’s behaviors.
Third, bad and violent aspects of the society are shown to people, especially children, which makes them go on a criminous way. This leads to the adolescent crimes caused by the influence of violent movies and TV series, which do great harm on the growth of adolescents. It is caused by various movies and TV series about crimes, which should be limited to be shown.
In conclusion, movies and television influence people both positively and negatively. With more movies and TV programs produced everyday, the role of them must be fully considered, which is essential for them to do good to the society. I think as people are asking for movies and TV programs in higher quality, movies and television will play an even more important role to the society.

越写越收不住手啊,总感觉第二个例子长了点。另外有问题:是让写movies and tv 还是movie tv选一个方面啊?
原题目:topic 7: how do movies and television influence people's behavior? use ^^^^^^^

Topic 166
Obviously, children and adults are different in many aspects, such as the way they talk to the others, their behaviors and the comments about different sort of events. But people cannot agree on what event or ceremony makes a child grow to be an adult. In my point of view, it is at the graduate of high school that a child grows up to be an adult.
Traditionally, when people graduate from high school, they are usually seventeen or eighteen years old, ages considered as adults. People are usually considered mentally mature when they enter university because they will probably make more decisions all by themselves and they can never rely on their parents as much as before. Gradually, they will develop the ability to make right decisions on important events more quickly and deal with daily affairs more properly, which means they have been adults.
Further more, the knowledge people get from high school can help them set up their own careers. People are too young to do complicated jobs such as accountants or engineers when they are adolescents, because their knowledge is not enough for such jobs. However, university period should not be the earliest time a person can begin his career. Knowledge from universities or colleges are of senior education which is not necessary for one to master. Many craftsmen around me do not have bachelor’s degrees, but their jobs are more interesting than most of the bachelors’, and their salaries is also among the highest. These people are not rare in our society. Therefore, the basic knowledge people get from high school study is sufficient for their careers.
The last but not the least important, people are able to live by themselves at this age. Before they graduate from high school, they are probably living with their parents. During this period, they can learn how deal with their daily affairs such as housework, cooking and laundry from their parents. It is neither too early to live separately because of lack of experiences in living, nor too late to be an encumbrance of parents. It is the time for people to begin to take care of themselves.
In short, as people are mature both mentally and physically, I reinforce my standpoint that people are most suitable to be called an adult when they graduate from high school.

唉, 到考场上第二个BODY 肯定收不住??怎么办>!>>!?!??!?

Topic 150
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Watching television is bad for children. Use specific details and examples to support your answer.

Nowadays almost every family owns at least one television set, and television is playing a very important role in people’s lives. Children are especially attracted by TV programs since some of them are new and interesting to them. Recently the problem has been brought into focus that whether watching TV is bad for children or not. In my point of view, the advantages of watching television outweigh the disadvantages.
Television programs can broad views of children and show them what is the world. A good case in point is those instructive programs on Channel Ten of China Central Television, which is a special channel for scientific and educational programs. Children can learn about science, history, politics, literature and even English from these programs. Certainly children who watch these programs will be much more knowledgeable than those who do not when they grow up.
Television is also a good source of recreation for children. Cartoons are especially welcome by children since they are interesting and easy to understand. Children who watch cartoons may find life enjoyable, while those who do not may often get angry or feel sad. Cartoons are also a good pastime for children when they want to relax. In short, cartoons are a necessity for children.
Admittedly, the disadvantages of television cannot be neglected. Some programs that are not suitable for children are often shown on television and the addiction to television reduces the time children play outdoor. But in summary, the advantages are more obvious since television can function as a instructive teacher and a good story teller. Therefore, I reinforce my standpoint that watching television is good for children.

看来我还得提高速度。。。。。

第四期同题

Topic 14
Attending classes seems to be a must for all students in university. Recently there has been a public debate that whether going to classes should be optional or not. In my point of view, attending classes is a better choice for students to get a satisfactory result in their courses.
Attending classes is the best way for students to communicate with professors and to keep up with the pace. Suppose a student goes to classes optionally, then he has to go over the texts all by himself sometimes. If a very difficult question that relates to the materials he is going to research on comes up and he cannot solve it, his research will be disturbed and a lot of valuable time will be wasted on intensively studying on the question. If he attends classes regularly, he can surely solve this problem by asking the professor about the question.
Another benefit that attending classes gives to students is cooperation. When taking classes together, a student can discuss questions with his classmates when he has trouble in understanding. What is more, when one of the students encounters a problem and makes a class discussion, all the students present will be involved with thinking about it and trying to solve it. This sort of cooperation not only leads to a best solution to the problem, but also let students know how other students think about this problem, which benefits students’ innovation. Therefore attending classes will give students an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn more efficiently.
Attending classes is also a basic principle in university. If this sort of freedom is given to students, administration will be very difficult for the university. A confusion of taking classes will then be a great trouble.
In short, attending class can help students master the most on their courses. Information from professors and classmates is usually more important than that on books and from internet. I think regularly attending classes is not a waste of time in any extent, but really a precious period of studying.

Topic 97 0601 TWE
Salaries of teachers can be determined by many different facts. Some people argue that teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn, while many other people oppose this point. To my standpoint, how much students learn cannot decide on teachers’ wages.
First of all, how much students can learn cannot be accurately judged. Some people think examinations can best evaluate how much a student can learn. But taking all facts into consideration, this point is only partially right. Results of examinations can be determined by some internal factors, such as mood and health conditions. It is difficult to take all factors into account to figure out how much the student actually has learnt. Examinations are only one case. Other methods which intend to get an exact result can also not be regarded as perfect methods.
Second, how much a student can learn is not entirely determined by how much the teacher has taught. For one thing, many students read books that are not assigned by their teachers and they learn a lot of extra knowledge. And students’ quality and capacity vary from person to person. Suppose there are three persons listen to the same professor talking about the same thing in the same classroom, but the result may be one person can almost recite the speech, while the other two just cannot understand anything. So teachers’ salaries cannot be judged in this way because how much students learn cannot be determined all by teachers’ factors.
If teachers’ salaries are determined in this way, teacher will turn to cater to students’ taste in teaching. In order to get higher wages, some teachers may just teach what students want to learn and do not teach knowledge that are required by textbooks. This will lead to the fact that students can not attain all the essential knowledge their need for future, and the principle of education is also altered.
In short, how much students learn is an abstract concept and cannot determine how much teacher should earn. Therefore I reinforce my point of view that teachers should not be paid according to how much their students learn.

Therefore, a person with sense of humor can usually be a welcomed neighbor and surely a good neighbor.
Intelligence is also a very important quality. Living with an intelligent neighbor can lead us to understand more about life and the world. 觉得楼主的这篇文章语句不够native,再花点时间改进改进吧。有的句子读起来有点别扭。

我的第五期也请帮忙改改哦,谢谢。楼主还是上期第一个该我文章的人呢,呵呵呵。
