Art, at the very beginning which purely serves to pleasure, has been developing with the growing of art itself. I agree broadly what the author asserts that the arts reveal the hidden ideas and impulses of a society.

The painting, music, literature, and movie, each of which is one part of arts. In the early society, people perceived arts which could give pleasure to them and the art is regarded as a formation of beauty which they can enjoy and release . With the development of society, some artists began to express their personnel views and the vision of the world through some media. So these art works were regarded as offensive by people who thought art should be pleasant only. Take the Beethoven for example, his early symphonies were disliked by people who criticised that they were so noisy. Gradually, the arts have more and more formations and views. It is the 必然  trend. Nowadays, the real art is the one that reveals the hidden ideas and impulses of a society which general people can not discover.

Arts can help penetrate further into the world, then explain these undiscovered ideas. Therefore, as an extinguish artist, he or she must be qualified with superior insight but the common people are not gifted. The greater the artist is, the more sensitive to the society the artist is. Shakes Spear, the ingenious writer, revealed the impulses of society and reflected the deeper life of aristocracy at that period. He expressed his insightful view to people in his literature, in addition, he won the respect and was approbated by almost all the people. Picasso traveled in an unexplored region of mind and expressed thoughts never uttered before by an artist. His giant canvas, a picture of a ruined world with strange shapes of dying horses and killed children, was to commemorate the Basque town bombed by German in the Spanish civil war and to express against the horror of warfare. In this modern society, It is not uncommon that people understand the art through watching movie, which is the most popular formation of art among people. Not only can the audiences remove their nervous from work, but also they can learn some inspiring ideas from movies, which actors try to express by the means of acting.

Admittedly, some arts can not unveil the hidden ideas, such as some pop music which have little deep meaning but just for fun. This kind of music, as a fashion trend, will be disappear after maintaining a period of popular. Besides, we can find that many literatures written for the purpose of catering to their readers only without deeper analyzing in today. So do some painting artists, who only take into consideration which paintings could be more curative. However, in my view, these arts are not the real arts, they can just be called imitations and can not achieve the level of real art.

Art, which full of imagination, beauty, and mythology, reveals some veiled ideas and impulses of a society which can not be discovered by general people.
