With fabulous development of globalization and mass media, scandals are also revealed and transmitted in a rapider speed than before. It is not a surprise when opening an a news paper, the most conspicuous edition's headline is about the scandals, such as corruptions, gerrymander (这个...是不是红宝背多了...gerrymander的丑闻真的很多么|||呵呵扯远了) , accounting fraud of big company and doping. Apparently, these scandals are easier to catch readers’ eyes. However, I do not think that people focus on scandals is a good phenomenon to the society.
Firstly, I admit that scandals really draw people's attention. Celebrities' scandals are more likely to be probed than common political and government news for the reason that people are more interested in these public figures' daily life. Governments' and big companies' scandals are also to be probed for the reason that they have some relation to people's lives. Scandals, once be revealed, are easy to be the most eye-catching thing of which people want to know the truth and the progress with curious eyes.
However, even if people focus attention on scandals, it does not mean scandals are useful to the society. (有argu的味道呵呵) It goes without saying that actors' scandals which just satisfy people's curiosity about their privacy can make no contribution to the society, does scandals in politics can be benefic to the nation? The answer is no! All of us know that once there are scandals about the government, people in the country can easy lose confidence about their government. It is hard for the government to call attention of the public and implement any useful policies. 扯远了,而且你的观念也不是错的^_^) Politics, economy even everywhere in people's daily lives may be affected by these scandals. A well-known example is the Watergate Affair. After this scandal, Nixon lost his position and left a great deal of objection against the government. Considering the bad effect the scandals bring into the whole sociey, even if the scandals sometimes may make the government modify their policies, I do not support to deal with problems by revealing the scandals to public, for that in most cases, the negative effect are always larger than the positive reform we hope to make.
Moreover, sometimes scandal may obscure a person's merit and ability, even ruin his/her whole life, which may also cause great loss to the whole society. 自己写的时候就是不知道怎么说兴奋剂才没敢写的说~) the major problems in the Olympic Games, ruin so many athletes' career. Admittedly, some athletes indeed want to succeed in a shocking way. But for some athletes, it maybe just an incaution. Maybe the athletes are so talented and excellent, we should give them a chance to show their ability. Another case is the former U.S. president Bill Clinton, the scandal nearly ruin his whole career. Regardless the sex scandal, the remarkable performance of him should not be overshadowed for that during the years of his administration, economy and life quality rise steadily in U.S. So if we give up these people, who make a great contribution to the whole society, what a great loss to the whole society! (!good job!)
In sum, when dealing with scandals, we must keep a fresh brain to try our best to reduce the negative effect they make to the whole society. In my view, we should choose some other effective ways to do with (do with是解决的问题么?好像不是) the problem in the society to build a more peaceful environment for us to live. 上文并不是主要在说scandals对于peaceful的影响,不如改成说choose other more constructive way...to build a harmony and rational society)
