The arts which attract our attentions and imaginations often reveal the hidden ideas and impulses of the society, Nevertheless, during some specific periods and for some queer artists, art don't own this merit as usual. We should refer to more other means which can also reveal hidden ideas and impulses if we want to comprehend those ideologies completely.

On reason in favor of the author's view has to do with the fact that most art is based on the social reality and human being’s living. Arts, with its unique features and merits, can serve as a tool to convey various viewpoints and imagination. For example, the book Uncle Tom’s of  Stowe cabin’s novel, at first glance, it might tempering to think it descript the living condition of the African slaves, but it presents the fact that real people were filled with desire to pursue hope and freedom. Later, it is the pursue that incited the civil war of America, and played a great effect on the history of the U.S. Not only the liberate can used to reveal the ideas, but also the architecture can do. Let us look for the pyramids in Egypt, the construction that all entrances face to the sky presents people’s respect to the deity for the sake of they can be guided to the heaven after dying.

However, certain art creations do not used to reveal the ideas according to the artists’ specific society or complex psychology. On the other hand, we can learn this form the arts before the 19th century, during most of Western history before this time, the nature of art had been determined primarily by leaders of society's most powerful institutions -- the church, the government, and the aristocracy. Artists were craftsmen at the service of leaders, and much of the work that they were commissioned to create interpreted and upheld their social vision. On the other hand, some artist such as Picasso, used arts to merely present personal ideology but not the society, Picasso’s style underwent a series of radical changes throughout his life. Perhaps it is more the complex psychological profile of the eccentric artist than a quick series of radical change in society’s impulses make the change of his diverse style. Therefore, revealing society is not the only purpose of art.

Thus, we also should pay attentions to other approaches in order to reveal the hidden ideas and impulses completely. Appreciating of the primarily historical matters and ceremonies can help us learn the hope and pursue of most people in they cotemporary society. Taking baptism for example, through the process of “get right with God “, we bury the “old person” in the water and become a “new person” through our acceptance of Christ. It is like a new birth and a new beginning for us. It reflects our desire of a good life and new starting. What is more, the establishment of the First Amending which notes everybody is created equally indicated that we have the necessity of equal, we all entitled to an equal start to seek and receive education and vocation.

In sum, not only the art can reveal the hidden ideas and impulses of the society, but also the ceremonies and historical matters do too. We should keep open—minded about both in order to understand those ideologies from all round itself.
