------题目------
Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student.
------正文------
Education is provided for the whole citizens. Someone argues that it is effective to design education specifically for individual needs and interests, which I do not agree. In my opinion, it is worthless and unfair to design education for individuals.
First of all, it is time-consuming and expensive to specifically design education to meet the individual needs and interests. During the process of designing, the government and school may spend a lot time to evaluate each student's personality and characteristics, which is a huge project. In fact, each student's feature is much different from each other. It is difficult for the government and school to design a proper way of education for each student. In this way, even though they spend much time to design personal education, they may not find out proper results. Moreover, by designing education, the government and school may invest a lot money and stuff to the project. There are a number of fields such as the science researches and national security for the government to support. Also there are numbers of students who are too poor to pay the education fees for schools to help. It is not a wise idea to specifically design education for each student. Thus, it is not an effective way to design education for individuals. Instead, it is a way of wasting time and money.
Furthermore, to some extent, it is unfair to design education for each student. It is possible for the government and schools in developed areas of a country to design education for individuals. However, it is probably that the students in remote and developing areas are unable to receive the education that is specifically designed for them. In this way, it is unjust for them to receive different education. In addition, if the whole country provide the same education, it is beneficial for all the students. For example, when a student transfers to another city, he may not meet any difficulty in studies in the new environment. However, if the new school cannot offer specifically designed education for him, he may lose the interests of studying. Therefore, it is fair and beneficial for all the students to receive the same education.
Admittedly, in some situations schools may provide some education specifically designed for a group of students. It is likely that a variety of students have the same interests and needs. In this way, if schools have the ability to offer some courses to meet such students' needs, it is an effective way to cultivate these students' interests. For example, some schools in Shanghai provide several special courses on natural science and foreign culture to meet the students’ needs. By doing so, the students may learn something they are interested in effectively, and it may arouse their passion to do more research on their interests. Hence, in some ways, it is an effective for schools to design some courses to meet the need of students who have similar interests.
To sum up, in my opinion it is not effective to design education to meet every student's interests and needs. Because it is time-consuming, expensive and unnecessary to do so. Instead, schools may offer some special courses for students who have similar interests. |
