Can no one possibly obtain success in the world by abiding by the conventional practices and ways of thinking? Undoubtedly, anyone who wants to achieve greater success must cherish the spirit of questioning the conventional ideas and practices. However, I think that the speaker’s claim is problematic both in scientific fields and in nonscientific fields.
      So far as scientific fields are concerned, only when one scientist disobeys the conventional practices and ways of thinking can he achieve success. On one hand, scientists carry out researches and experiments repeatedly according to well-known formulation and theoretical principles; on the other hand, they can put forward creative theory and thought on the basis of conventional practices. Take physics as an example, from the simple physics of Aristotle to the classic physics of Newton, till the modern physics of Boer, the physical theories are renewed and perfected continuously by the efforts made by scientists in order to meet the increasing need of the society.  While they made efforts, they also experienced the Oddessey’s journey to questioning the conventional practices and ways of thinking.
Similarly, it is by questioning the conventional practices and ways of thinking that one can achieve his/her goal in the nonscientific fields. For instance, every government has its own conventional practices and traditional ways of thinking. In dealing with the different matters in government, every officer must change the methods and ways of thinking differently from convention so as to solve different problems and achieve his/her own success in office. Consequently, it will be of importance to facilitating the efficiency of the government as a whole. Another case in point is in business, so long as the employees smoothly deal with various situations according to specific circumstances without conforming to the company’s convention. It is sure that he/she will achieve his/her success.
However, I agree with what the speaker claimed to some extent, for conventional practices and ways of thinking really play a vital role in helping one achieve success. As for any people, whoever they are, from the day they were born, they would receive conventional practices and ways of thinking from their parents, and then their teachers, and then whole society. Whenever they succeed, more or less, they cannot deny that the influence from the conventional practices and ways of thinking in their life. Just as in the fields of physics, one of the greatest physicists, Newton once said “I owe my success to numerous giants”. Here, the giants he referred to are surely the conventional practices and ways of thinking. Meanwhile, Newton sang high praise for the giants instead of overlooked them. As a result, everyone who in any field achieves success is by conforming to conventional to conventional practices and ways of thinking to some degree.

To sum up, I disagree with what the speaker’s claim in that one cannot achieve success without taking the conventional practices and ideas into consideration either in scientific fields or in nonscientific fields (in scientific or nonscientific On the other hand, whoever one is and whatever one does, he/she would be influenced by the conventional practices and ways of thinking inevitably.

谢谢你的提醒，是改了好几遍才贴出来的，因为是刚开始练，总觉得的逻辑思想不太清晰，表达上有欠缺。
另外，这个作文题目确实有些长，在写文章内容的时候就不太好简写，不知你写过这个题目了没有，能不能一起讨论一下啊？
