Does technology create more problems than it solves and it also might threaten or damage the quality of life, as the author asserts? In my point of view, I could not passively accept the author's assertion, although I concede that with the development of technology, there are some problems indeed caused by it, on the other aspect, technology, especially the modern technology makes our lives more convenient and comfortable.

Admittedly, the development of technology takes people into troubles. For example, the environment problem becomes a global issue now; more and more countries pay great attention and spend a great deal of money to solve it. With the living level increases we are so sad to see the scenes such as the deforestation of grasslands, the polluted rivers and lakes, the thinner and thinner ozone layer and the increasingly global temperature because of the warm-room effect. To some extent, these problems damage the quality of our lives. Even in the pure scientific field, the development of technology also cause some problems we never had thought before, take the technology of clone for instance, if one considers it simply from the medical aspect, it is a great progress or an important contribution to the world because based on this technology there are more diseases could be cured. However, on the ethical level, we could not make sure whether it is appropriate to move it on to the human beings. And it is still a contention nowadays. Consequently, sometimes technology is not always good for people, not only could it make people reconsider its merit, but also could cause some serious problems to the world.

On the other hand, we also should not ignore the positive role which the technology plays. Simply compared the modern society to the former's, it is not difficult for a person to know what the technology brings to us. For example, the space technology makes human beings know more about the universe and even could leave a footprint on the moon. The modern medical technology saves numberless people from serious illness and even saves their lives. The invention of solar cells help people deal with, at least to some extent, the problem of the shortage of energy. It seems that we could never illustrate all advantages provided by the development of technology, thus no matter what the problems it causes, the opposite effects are never could be denied.

To sum up, although the development of technology brings both benefit and problems to the human beings, we should take an objective view about it. And more importantly, we believe that even the problems which caused by technology also could be solved with the further development of it.
