Based on a potentially problematic study and some unwarranted postulations, the author concludes that all patients who are diagnosed as muscle strain should take antibiotics for treatment. This conclusion seems reasonable at first glance, but it does commit several logical flaws as presented as following.

In the first place, this argument relies on a problematic study , which provides no information about the basic conditions of the two group of patients. It is entirely possible that it is the inherent  distinction between the two groups that contributes to the misleading result of the experiment. Perhaps patients in the first group are mostly younger than the other group ,in which group the majority are sixties and seventies , so the first group are inclined to recover more quickly than the old group. Moreover, the study also provides no the number of the two groups. If one group has 100 people , and the other has only 10 patients , then the consequence of the study is not effective. Absent from such information , the basis of the argument is unwarranted.

In addition, even if the elementary situations of the two group are almost the same , there may be alternative reasons other than antibiotics serve to patients’ convalescing. Perhaps just because the doctor of the first group is a specialist in sports medicine , who is more professional and has more experience in treating muscle strain , the result of the treatment will be better than the control  group whose doctor is merely a physician. Furthermore, the sugar pills may have potential negative effect on the second group of patients. Without ruling out these possibilities , the argument is unconvincing.

Finally , even assuming antibiotics work to the recovering of the muscle strain , it is too hasty to conclude that all patients with muscle strain should receive antibiotics as part of the treatment. The author fails to take into account other factors which may affect the result of the treatment. For example , fatigue and nutrition conditions are important factors which serve to the convalescing . Moreover, many patients may not involve in the infection , so it is not necessary to use antibiotics. Again ,the arguer fails to address these factors in the argument.

In sum, this argument should provide more information about the basic conditions of the two group . Further, to be more convincing, the auther should preclude other factors that affect the result of the muscle strain.
