The author asserts that the education should involve parents and communities besides a group of professional educators. As the education is essential for prosperity and survival of a nation, and the effect of parents and communities on education cannot be ignored, I fundamentally agree with the authors’ advice that both parents and communities must take a role in the local schools.

To begin with, parents is an important factor in the growth of a youth. As we come to this world, the first people we meet are our parents. They are our first teachers in our lives. So, parents take an vital part in creating children's outlooks of world and life as well as values. For example, Oneal, an NBA star favorite by many basketball enthusiasts, if not most, said that the only person he was afraid is his father. In the citation, maybe 'afraid' is not so proper because his father is greatly shorter and thinner than he is. What he really wants to show is that he respect his father and regard him as a teacher. In his child life, his father told him what to do and what not to do. He is depressed because other students always laugh at him as a query because of his height and slow movement. It is his father who illuminate him and give him the chance to go to the basketball court to find himself, his confidence and self-evaluation. It appears reasonable, therefore, parent can instruct a children's value and behavior, even the future.

Not only parents effect the growing of a youth, communities also play an important part in education. As students are not always stay at school, the community is the place they live in. A community can provide a good environment for children when they are outside school such as the summer and winter vocation. As for me, in such a long time staying at home, I always take part in many activities held by the community. We go to beadhouse to do services for elder people; we do rubbish recycle for the residents, and we also give performance such as singing, dancing and acrobatic show for an entertainment for the community. In such activities, we learned to concern for others, protect environment from pollution and give joy to others as possible as we can. All those will not be taught so effectively on classes.

As analyzed before, both patents and communities is crucial to children. To magnify their influence, and give better education to children, it is essential to combine the school, parents and communities all together. As the parents provide a safe and comfortable space for children to grow healthy and maintain a home environment that encourages learning and good behavior in school. Schools provide training and information to help families understand their children's development. What means we used can be listed as parents reference, report cards, and periodic phone call. Also the communities can provide some agencies such as healthcare, cultural events and tutoring services for children to use what they have learned to help others. It is possible that the effects combined with those three will be larger than the sum of theirs respectively.

In the final analysis, we cannot deny the importance of professional educators since students can learn a lot of knowledge in school. Parents and communities also play a vital role in education. The most important thing we should do is to involve all those together in education and make a balance between them.

The great power, comes the great responsibility
