ISSUE48 - "The study of history places too much emphasis on individuals. The most significant events and trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten."


  It may be a permanent controversy on whether history is made by groups of people or by the famous few. It is true that hero can stimulate the development of certain event; however, we must concede that it is because of the most people that our history become more colorful and various.
  To begin with, in my opinion, it is groups of people made our human history rather than the famous few. In our history materials, authors put too much emphasis on individuals that will lead to illusions that our humankind history is made by the famous few. We can find out that authors are always willing to pay more attention to the famous individuals that contribute a lot instead of people who are less important. However, in fact, the most people who are neglected by authors are the real hero of our history. Without groups of people, merely depending on the ability of the famous few, these individuals can do little or nothing for the whole event. It is for the reason that the most people carry out the plan successfully made by the famous few, offspring can known their sage decision for our history.
  However, my points of view that groups of people are the real hero of history do not mean that the famous few are meaningless or mediocre. On the contrary, the famous individuals are also the significant factor for the success of the whole event. Under some circumstances, on account of groups of people are less powerful or don't have enough knowledge to deal with the complex problems, only famous few is brave and intelligent enough to make the decision which may decide the following vital result of the event.
  On balance, in my observation, the most significant events and trends in history were made not only by the famous few but by groups of people. Without the famous few, groups of people will lose the course and don't know where to go; without groups of people, the ability of famous few is too limited to carry out his plan alone. Only when the famous few and groups of people can work together well, help with each other, develop their own advantages and do their best to make their plan become true, offspring can remember them for their critical events and trends.
  In the aggregate, we must put enough emphasis on groups of people who is the real creator of our history on the one hand. On the other hand, it is the famous few who make the wise and vital decision that stimulate the improvement of our history. Only when we can face the controversy in an objective and just way, do we know our history deeper and wider.
