In the history, the nonmainstream areas act as a tool for us to satisfy the heart of people and remained accompany with those mainstream ones. Though they may be used by the monarch to rule the public, it is true that these nonmainsrteam principles play a vital role in society and fulfill the blanks that are not addressed by leading science.

At the first place, nonmainstrean areas play the most important role in many countries long before. As the scare knowledge and experience in the past, people resorted to this means to explain the phenomenon. First, some of the natural phenomena are ambiguous for people, even the sages. They attribute them to psychic. Example to be illustrated is the Chinese story "God's dog eats the moon". It is believed that God live in the heaven was not satisfied what people did and angered. So he sent his dog to eat the moon in order to get away the only blight in darkness. It is a story to ring a bell that people should not commit any crime. Second, monarch used the nonmainstream areas such as astrology to rule publics. In the past China, the monarch was considered as the son of God and was sent to rule the common people. They also determine some significant affairs depending on the atmosphere and the shape of the stars, considering this would bring the good luck for his program.

Secondly, nonmainstream principles are also prevalent nowadays as their respective functions. First and the most important, it act as a heart home to return to for the modern people. They sink the roots in people's mind and moral value systems. For the hard work and lives pressure, common people search for a place to satisfy themselves and their frustration in the real lives. Their desires may be hopeful when they understand and behavior in the way the paranormal pursuits ask for. Second, these nonmainstream principles serve the originations of the mainstream ones. The phenomena which cannot be explained by science attract scholars and researchers to disclose their essence, so they devote themselves to make them clear. It is obviously beneficial to the mainstream study and may lead to the born of a new discipline. Third and also meaningfully, the religions are transmitted and maintained because the people who trust these principles also can understand the essence of religion easily and conform the moral standards the religion call for.

However, it is not denying nonmainstream areas should be adored properly and ruled in some degree. Without the control of understanding these principles by people themselves, we will loose the capacity to determine what should be true and tend to be extremes. Take the Terror Doctrine for example, they trust their leader excessively and conform to the leader with no prerequisite, even the command destroy the rights of others out of their organization. The nonmainstream areas would also sometimes make us frustrated after their mystery being disclosed. So we should place a proper attitude toward them and evaluate their value in a appropriate way.

Above all, my statement are illustrated by examples and indicated by reasons. Nonmainstream areas of inquiry existed to fulfill the desires of people who may have some regret in the real world, and also serve as a way to inspire the discovery in mainstream science. It will not be extinct soon because of its advantages mainatream science can not reach at this time.
