Issue65.The following appeared in a memo from the president of a chain of cheese stores located throughout the United States.
"For many years all the stores in our chain have stocked a wide variety of both domestic and imported cheeses. Last year, however, the five best-selling cheeses at our newest store were all domestic cheddar cheeses from Wisconsin. Furthermore, a recent survey by Cheeses of the World magazine indicates an increasing preference for domestic cheeses among its subscribers. Since our company can reduce expenses by limiting inventory, the best way to improve profits in all of our stores is to discontinue stocking many of our varieties of imported cheese and concentrate primarily on domestic cheeses."
Syllabus:

In this argument, the president of a chain of cheese stores located throughout the United States claims that the company must stock various of domestic cheeses rather than kinds of imported cheeses, which is the best way to improve profits. As support for the argument, the president states in the newest store the five best-selling cheeses during last year are all domestic cheddar cheeses from Wisconsin. Furthermore justification, the president states a survey from cheeses of the World magazine indicates its subscribers has an increasing preference for domestic cheeses. Closer scrutiny, this argument predicts on problematic reasoning.

One of the critical problems of the president's argument is that he fails to take other alternatives into account, when he refers to the best way to increase profits to limit inventory. For example, the company could aim at aggrandizing revenues by some promotions or enhance its advertisement rather than trying to simply reduce inventory.
Furthermore, the president bases his weak argument on several unconvincing evidence. The arguer adverts that in the newest store of the company the five top-selling cheeses in last year are all domestic cheddar cheeses from Wisconsin. First of all, there's no any details about the newest store, such as, the location. if it's adjoining to Wisconsin, it's obviously for the newest store to stock lots of cheeses from the neighboring city. Besides, the arguer refers that the most popular cheeses are all cheddar cheeses. He doesn't mention other kinds of cheeses. It's possible that the cheddar cheeses are on sale or the residents are familiar to this taste of cheese. So only one store can not represent all the chain stores of the nationwide. Finally, the present ignores an important point that the investigation of the best-selling cheeses is based on one-year situation. One year is too short of a time to determine a pattern for success, even assuming that all the chain stores of the nation approximately the same type of customer base. The above factors make this argument fatally weakened.
Meanwhile, the president cites a survey by cheeses of the World magazine which indicates an increasing preference to domestic cheeses among its subscribers. There remain some unexamined problems in the survey. Firstly, the style of this magazine. If the magazine is mainly concerning on the domestic cheeses, it's certainly that its readers must be ones who favor domestic cheeses. Secondly, there's no statistic information about the number of readers of this magazine. Maybe the magazine is not so popular in the country. Then the survey is absolutely no representative. It's unwise to trust an survey which is not amenable to show people tend to like domestic cheeses.
In summary, the president has provided scant anecdotal evidence that can't support his argument. To strengthen the argument, persuasive evidence should be provided that by focusing on store of domestic cheeses instead of imported cheeses, the profits can correspondingly increased. Additionally, direct evidence should be offered that domestic cheeses are truly got favor of people in the country. Without further direct evidence supporting his conclusions, it should be rejected.

In this argument, the president of a chain of cheese stores located throughout the United States claims that the company must stock various of domestic cheeses rather than kinds of imported cheeses, which is the best way to improve profits. As support for the argument,(syntax) the president states in the newest store the five best-selling cheeses during last year are all domestic cheddar cheeses from Wisconsin. Furthermore justification (futhermore is a adv., which can not be used to describe a noun.), the president states a survey from cheeses of the World magazine indicates its subscribers has an increasing preference for domestic cheeses. Closer scrutiny, this argument predicts on problematic reasoning (what does this mean?).

One of the critical problems of the president's argument is that he fails to take other alternatives into account, when he refers to the best way to increase profits to limit inventory. For example, the company could aim at aggrandizing revenues by some promotions or enhance its advertisement rather than trying to simply reduce inventory (are you aware that this paragraph is just two sentences long? the topic sentence is jjust way to wound.).
Furthermore, the president bases his weak argument on several unconvincing evidence. One year is too short of a time to determine a pattern for success, even assuming that all the chain stores of the nation approximately the same type of customer base. The above factors make this argument fatally weakened.(too many ideas in the same paragraph, you need one paragraph for each of your points)

Meanwhile, the president cites a survey by cheeses of the World magazine which indicates an increasing preference to domestic cheeses among its subscribers. There remain some unexamined problems in the survey. Firstly, the style of this magazine. If the magazine is mainly concerning on the domestic cheeses, it's certainly that its readers must be ones who favor domestic cheeses (not necessarily). Secondly, there's no statistic information about the number of readers of this magazine. Maybe the magazine is not so popular in the country (it is not a case of populatiry, but credibility of the information). Then the survey is absolutely no representative. It's unwise to trust an survey which is not amenable to show people tend to like domestic cheeses (again, too many ideas in thesame prargraph. Also, i think you have confused surveys with polls.).

In summary, the president has provided scant and anecdotal evidence that can't do not use abbreviations, too informal support his argument.
