Topic The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives.

Beginning: disagree with the author’s statement. The true value of history can not be narrowed in the range of people’s daily lives. To the contrary, the merit of learning history benefit us not only raising nation loyalty, preventing repeating mistakes, but also help us understand the past culture.

End: Studying history has its value in many respects. The true value of history lies in what it tells us about the world in which we live. People should take advises in mind by the experience the precedent provided. Moreover, it will be recommended to full one’s personal life, gain the capacity to be more human throughout learning the history. In all, it is an efficient and useful skill for human nature.

The speaker claims that the study of history is valuable only to the extent that it is relevant to our everyday lives. I find this statement to be specious. I think the true value of history can not be narrowed in the range of people’s daily lives. To the contrary, the merit of learning history benefit us not only raising nation loyalty, preventing repeating mistakes, but also help us understand the past culture propel one’s struggle in life.

To begin with, learning history gives us the motivation to be more patriotic. For instance, the American Revolution has revealed the hope of ancient America people for autonomy, as well as against series unfair laws press on their shoulders. This history gives modern society U.S. people a good lesson in knowing how difficult their current life comes from, in knowing how great their ancestors performed in order to build up the country, and in knowing the poor life their ancestor suffered, therefore, as a result, these experience are meant to drive home an understanding of national values and a commitment to national loyalty. History tells us current life comes not easily, thus admonish us not to waste time in life.

Additionally, mistakes of past can teach us as a guideline to avoid the repeating those former dramatic lesson. Take The Second War as an example, by retrospect, what this war renders us is nothing but a worldwide economy depression along with numerous innocent victims who were deprived their life from the war. Thus we present people should cherish the current life and maintain the possibility of global peace. Also, the disaster of 9.11 Incident makes us know the event, at the same time it makes us realize the importance of war on terrorism.

Further more, by looking back to the history of past culture, it might provide us inspiration. For example, people may form their interest by the great achievement their past culture performed. Students would be curious in the great culture their nation provided, and then propel them, give them inspiration to be active in the realm which they favor most.

At last, history as a heredity that ancients remain to us, give us more convenience in acting some of today’s affairs .From the ancient Chinese author Sun Tzu's book "The Art of War", today's military commanders and even business leaders gather valuable information that allows them to operate more efficiently and effectively.
