The speaker asserts that modern improvements of technologies are not simply influence but determine social customs and ethics in some sense. I fundamental agree with this assertion, because along with the rapid development of technology, our daily life styles is changing gradually and this change like a great power is reshaping human behaviors and step by step reforming our social traditions--including customs and ethics. It will be much clearer when we consider the influences which western society bringing into eastern countries, in other words, when tradition customs and ethics are facing advanced technologies.

No one can deny the fact that, it is improvement of technology enhance the globalization, not only the economy or the culture. For one thing, man could travel among different countries by air, take monstrous ship. And then merchants could expand their business to other continents, which seems a mad imagination in ever past times. Consider China, for instance, a relatively traditional country. Since it began to take a reform and opening, a large number of new ideas and new technologies flushed into this age-old country. An increasing number of Chinese is learning to enjoy western things. Especially to the young, who always go into rapture when merely mentioned that, Coca Cola, Mcdonal’s, Milcor Jackson, the Paris dress fashion, the country music, the Internet, the advanced cars or the large scale of planes, and so forth. All of these new things mirrored the noted change of technologies.

As it were, more and more people have recognized that technologies are threatening traditions, and have started to call for a conservation of traditions in order to keep the diversity of cultures. However, it is generally concede that a huge number of excellent customs are inevitable undergoing a lost process. Those transforms are not always benefit human societies. Modern and ordinary lifestyle is becoming tension than ever before, there are less and less intercourses among people. Even the tradition feast days are pressed as simple as possible, public intend to stay at home for renew their tired body instead of to visit friend or to travel for pleasure, which often been done in the past.  
                                    
When it comes to the words ‘ethnic’ and ‘technology’, as soon as, one might be thought that the other word ’medical ethnic’. Medical ethnic is a typical issue which reflected the influence of technology taking to human ethnic. Like this, research involving genetic engineering, cloning, and in vitro fertilization gives scientists unprecedented power to bring about new life. As well as, when it comes to the other extreme, the fruits of this research include chemical and biological warfare, and nuclear weapons. Those cases do not indicate that the technology determined human ethnic varies, but it is obviously that if human beings do not adopt appropriate measures, those menaces will become to realistic mares.

In summary, technology has not merely influenced social customs and ethnic, it already severe threatens them. If the people who dwelling on this planet do not slow their tech expand or do not take measures to control those products of human intelligence, technologies will really whole determine social customs and ethnics finally.
